Probably, I'm skipping her arc and waiting for the show to catch up.
I'll pay attention to it that way.
So far the best story arcs(almost done with book 3) ranks as follows for me.
Jon
Arya
Tyrion
Sam
..
...
...
Dany's
Fuck. I am going to have to stop looking at this thread. Half of my theories seem to be in line with everyone elses'. Then there is the other half of stuff I never even thought of ><
I am hoping Jon's parentage isn't super complicated tbh. And at the root of it, I would really like, if even for a small time, for him and Dany to somehow get to know each other as siblings. Seeing as the only brother Dany ever knew was a total douche and Jon's never had a 'real' sibling at all. /sigh The romantic in me I suppose. >.>;
They changed the audiobook narrator for book 4. I don't like the new guy.
who the fuck is John Lee? ugh
He sounds like some British dolt.
You're massively missing out on a great story by skipping Daenarys. Her POVs were so great that they were all put together and published as their own book once.
Personally, the Jon POVs are at the lower end for me, but well above Theon, which I skip on my re-reads (I read them the first couple of times I read the series).
I think they will be related by blood and that they will still have some kind of romantic interaction.
Funny video!
It's kind of an odd concept to want. I don't see the point. Why would two adults who are aunt-nephew buid a sibling-like relationship? They're much more likely to build a romantic relationship if they build any relationship at all. Or one of queen and queensguard. A sibling relationship is most likely built when people are children, not adults.
Quick poll for when it comes out: which do people prefer, DwD talk in here, with required spoiler tags? or DwD gets its own thread with no spoiler tags?
I think it makes the most sense to post stuff here with spoiler tags. I mean, we've already discussed some of the spoiler chapters.
Having three ASoIaF threads might be a bit much.
I think that it should be kept in this thread but I don't see the need for spoiler tags after publication. If people are dumb enough to come into this thread when they're still reading the book then that's their own fault.
That could also work . . . I mean, I doubt it's going to take any fan of the series more than a couple days to read the book. Maybe make spoiler tags mandatory for, like, the first week?
sounds reasonable to me, if anyone objects let me know
I'm fairly slow to read, I'd prefer Spoilers or separate thread. It'll probably take me 5 months to read it as I'm reading other shit, so whatever others prefer.
Yeah the variable pace of people is why I was thinking a separate thread for DwD that doesn't require tags.
Honestly, even being one of those people who probably won't sleep until I'm finished reading it, I think a separate thread for those who like to smell the roses along the way would be appropriate.
There's too many scenarios where people have just woken up etc and aren't paying attention and accidentally spoiler themselves. Yeah, their fault for w/e etc and so forth. Still would help alleviate a little bit of this.
I guess I just don't see what the point of this thread would be if we had a separate thread for ADWD. At that point we would have two spoiler frontiers: one for show viewers, and one for people between AFFC and ADWD. I mean, what would people in this thread discuss?Theories for ADWD, when ADWD is already out?
Spoiler tags for the first week or two seem like the prudent decision.
