    Still Late ADWD stuff...

    Spoiler: show

the warg part is correct. although, effing hell, why don't they (starks) learn to keep their wolves beside them AT ALL TIMES? Gahhh....

explain the circumstances mirroring Azor Ahai? Despite long suspicion, I don't recall the being-stabbed-part.

Jon Snow: his wounds smoke while Bowen Marsh cries and Ser Patrek's bloody, star laden heraldry is in the air above.[14] Melisandre looks into her fires for Azor Ahai and sees only Snow.[15] Jon has a dream he is fighting Others with a red sword burning in his hand.

    book 3

    Spoiler: show
    FUCK

it's goddamn ned in balor's sept all over again, george martin is one huge fucking jerk if ever there was. I had heard "Red Wedding" during comic-con and knew it happened in the book and I kept wondering when it was coming up because to someone who had no idea, there were a ton of fucking things that sounded plausible between Sansa/Tyrion, Joffrey/Margaery, maybe Jon/Ygritte or some shit to do with the Lord of Light, I don't fucking know, but goddamn as soon as they left Riverrun the clues just started to pile up a mile high and I cringed all the fucking way to the end of the chapter.

So Martin's apparently 100 or so pages into Book 6 -- that means we'll have to wait till 2016 to have it? =/

Also, re: Azor Ahai, the awoiaf isn't specific and I can't recall if there was mention of it in the books--is he from Westeros? How else would he have faced his enemies if he's from Essos?

And something I got a kick out of:

Book 5 Spoilers -- Don't click unless you've completed all books.

    Spoiler: show

So after the epilogue, I had the taste in my mouth that Varys has wanted to keep Cersei in power all along. He didn't stop Tyrion from killing Tywin, and he himself killed Kevan, and both were capable regents. However, he's seen Cersei in action, and it seems like he's found her easy to manipulate, in one form or another. What better way to invite Aegon to the throne than to keep a weak ruler as his opposition? And that has seemed to be consistent with Varys' actions thus far in the series.

Cersei will become Queen regent again, and I'm sure Robert "I am not the Mountain-that-Rides, honest" Strong will champion her well enough to free her of the trial. Though, I think Cersei will be less than formidable opponent (given her weak hold now) for Aegon, and I'm more worried about the Holy Warriors/High Septon's army. That and Mace Tyrell. I can see no other real opposition to Aegon.

That might be his plan but it's going get all fucked up when the Church picks Sandor as their champion and he bitch slaps UnGregor around.

With the signing tour and all the conventions etc. he's done since the release I wouldn't be too hopeful.

Book 5 spoilers (Regarding Quaithe's prophecy)

    Spoiler: show

Have you guys discussed options for Quaithe's words to Dany? Who she has to avoid and whatnot? Quaithe lists 8 things:
    1. The Pale Mare -- The flux that's going through the camp? Often referred to (especially from a late Tyrion chapter onwards) as the pale mare -- I guess she meant for Dany to stay away from the Astapori refugees?
    2. Kraken -- Most likely Victarion, as he's sailing to meet her. It could also be Euron, though unlikely as Victarion is more a "kraken" than the Crow's Eye (plus his proximity to her).
    3. Dark Flame -- No idea...Drogon, like Balerion, spits dat hot fiya in black, but that wouldn't make sense if Dany is meant to be with the dragons.
    4. Lion - Tyrion is the candidate that comes to mind.
    5. Griffin -- Jon Connington or Aegon come to mind here, most likely the former. I'm guessing then, this is either looking very far ahead to when Dany might potentially hit Westeros.
    6. Sun's son - Quentyn Martell -- Dany herself seems to think this when she asks what the arms of Dorne are.
    7. Mummer's dragon - Aegon?
    8. Perfumed seneschal - Reznak is whom Dany suspects for much of the book, but I feel like the extent to which it's constantly repeated might be setting us for misdirection.

    Thoughts?

OH, and this is book 1 related, I'll spoiler just incase people are anticipating it to be substantial later:
    Spoiler: show

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE COMET? It just up and disappeared by early book 2.....at least when i read it, it made it seem like it was a pretty large comet that was visible for quite sometime. I find it odd that no references have been made to it for 3 books.

Dark Flame is probably the Red Priest with Victarion. Perfumed Seneschal could also be the slaver boat that brought Tyrion to Meeren.

I've always felt like the perfumed seneschal was Illyrio. I read a theory awhile back that perhaps Moqorro, the red priest, was actually Marwyn in disguise, which sounded compelling to me.

    Spoiler: show
It could be Illyrio, but I actually think it fits Varys better. Regarding you're second point I can't remember where but I thought I read that GRRM said that Marwyn did not appear in book 5. I could be wrong though.

Jesus, wait until you finish the book.

Caiyuo stop reading here, book 3 spoilers

    Spoiler: show
The last Tyrion chapter has me wondering, do they mention anything more about the 4th floor cells outside of it being the place of torture? I know that Shae saw it before, but something tells me there's more to this place later on

loved this so much I ended up putting the audio up on youtube just for that section. The early descriptions are cut out, though, because of time, but the image at least shows the difference between the two. All spoils, though.

finished book 3, feel a little better

    Spoiler: show
zombie cat was one hell of a twist, all I could think about is how much I want to see that portrayed on TV ...in 2 years. Of all the deaths, I think I was most horrified at the image of them throwing her naked body in the river so this revenge-spree that I assume they'll be on is really satisfying. Interested to find out more about Dondarrion and the Lord of Light and how that plays out with Azor Ahai since the clues are bouncing between him, Stannis and Dany.

Lord Commander Snow was a cool twist, too, the shit with Slynt and Thorne had me worried as hell. Saw Petyr giving Lysa the boot a mile away, but I didn't doubt for a second that Martin might kill Sansa there too, the whole thing had me anxious. Was pretty hopeful something would pan out with Tyrion, but I didn't expect to kill Shae, or to leave Jaime having told that lie. Because of that the greater fear is both that it would come back and grow into a bigger trouble, or mean that they wouldn't be seeing each other again, which is equally shitty.

Petyr has too much of an affection for Cat to ever physically harm Sansa (its hinted throughout the series.

With Tyrion and Jamie, I felt at that moment Jamie didn't believe him and just turned away in disappointment rather than morbid shock.

    Also:
    Spoiler: show
The last Tyrion moment really shows how rumors fly in Kings Landing. Fucking Vayrs lol
