So do we have to spoiler book theories in here?
Spoiler: show
I don't know the rules of this thread and I don't feel like going through the last 20 pages to check but common sense would say no need to spoiler unless it's something 100% confirmed for TWoW (such as what happens in the already released chapters). I'd PM a mod and I'd ask about it if you want to be safe.

I know there's no way Martin is keeping him dead, but starting in TWoW, the Wall might not necessarily need a POV (past a couple chapters) if the Others swarm past it or take it down... and I hope something of that magnitude happens because I think it's going to be pretty anti-climatic if after seven fucking books, the threat that we've been warned about since the very first book can't even go past the defenses that we had to begin with.
Jon definitely didn't have time to make the Wall any stronger than it was (although he was in the process of doing so), and arguably it's worse off because god knows what's going to happen with all the wildlings since I imagine whoever replaces Jon will want them gone. It's going to be a mess either way.
About possible winds of winter stuff
Spoiler: show
Why couldn't Arya warg into one?
While she has the ability, I don't think she'll get the proper training to do so since she's more or less training to become an assassin.
Ayra also doesn't actively know she is warging. Iirc she still thinks its more of a dream.
"You will fly"
Bran is going to warg a dragon. That's a done deal.
Jon Targaryn rides
Sansa dies
Rickon dies
Arya offs Lannisters and runs winterfell
huh, I never thought about what Arya would do later on. Really didn't imagine her even being that involved until she'd been in Braavos for a long while.
Yeah I have no idea how Arya is going to come back into the story. I can't see her sitting down to rule, though. I think Jon and Tyrion are going to be Dany's husbands. The first time you see Tyrion, Jon notices that his shadow is "as tall as a King's" or something like that. I absolutely believe that Tyrion WILL be King. Or at least Crown Prince Consort.
Arya is probably going to be sent against one of the other characters as an assassin, I imagine against Dany or Sansa
I always interpreted the "you will fly" line meaning that bran will warg into birds, not dragons. Isn't it part of his training underground to control the ravens or bats?
THE QUEEN IN THE NORTH! THE QUEEN IN THE NORTH!
![]()
From naive girl to warrior Queen in the North, I'd like that.
I love how everyone is getting really far ahead in theories now. PLEASE GIVE NEW BOOK NOW.
Also, the Lightbringer theory in the TV thread is fucking sweet.
Seriously, all this talk about theories is killing me. It absolutely fascinates me about all the theories people pull out of the books, and the predictions that come with them. I'll admit I never caught half the stuff you guys are mentioning, but the talk is making me ever more anxious for the new book.
Yeah, I think the only redeeming virtue of Martin's glacial pace (Aside from the obvious quality of his writing) is that it gives us so much time to really analyze shit and re-read and speculate. It's a lot of fun. I'll probably re-read the books again soon.
I'd love the Queen in the North to be true, but I don't see it. Not in the armored-up, warrior sense, anyway. Maybe Arya comes back and helps her reclaim the North. I don't think Rickon dies, though. Not with Osha and Davos both involved in his story. So she can't be Queen. Of the North, anyway. I kept hoping that she and Tyrion would finally get it on, so that she'd actually be married to a decent guy, but I dunno. The fact that they didnt is going to get it anulled, so I'm wondering if maybe she marries Petyr, and then Arya kills him or something. Actually, shit, I bet that's how it goes down. Petyr marries her to claim the North, Varys hires the Faceless Men to kill him, Arya is sent do to the deed, she meets Sansa after she does it, and stays. Sansa is now Rickon's heir to Winterfell, and holds the Vale of Arryn. Robert... I dunno. Maybe she marries Robert, and when Arya kills Petyr, Robert sees and spasms and falls off a cliff or something. Kinda of a dick thing to hope for, but I just really don't like him. Spoiled little spazface.
I think Petyr might be imagining that he can control Harrold Hardyng, so instead of him marrying Sansa he will just be with her out marriage. If he were to kill Harrold I would imagine they would end up in a similar situation to how they were after Petyr killed Lysa. The Vale doesn't want to be controlled by an outsider and I don't see how they would be happier with Alayne, or Sansa, (who would only be married to Harry for a short while) than they were with Petyr.
