I'm interested to see how they manage Arya over there really, I could see her being Cat for a really long time, or as easily being cat for like 2 episodes and then moving on

My memory is slipping from reading the books awhile ago, how would Arya replace Cat/Lady Stoneheart? Or is it another Cat I'm forgetting (I do recall her warging into a cat to fix her blindness, but I don't think that's what is being referred to here...)
cat of the canals
yeah Cat is the person she becomes when she lives with the guy and his daughters, selling clams and shit. she stays that way for quite some time; long enough for Sam to arrive. She isn't removed from that identity until she kills Dareon. I wonder if they'll do the Dareon bit, and who they'll use for him. I don't recall seeing him in the show. they might end up just having it be some random Black Brother. Or they might use Dolorous Edd. God, I hope they don't use Edd.
ive always wondered how much the kindly man guesses about arya's sense of self. accepting her choice of the name Cat... seems to me like he didn't make the connection (iirc arya chooses it specifically because it was her mother's nickname), but you never know.
i don't remember. i don't think he knew more than just that she was raised in a castle, but it's been a while so idk. nicknames aren't so easy to guess, though. she could have been Kate. or Lynn. Or something else entirely, like, say, Tansy, which I think was Lysa's nickname.
and nah, syrio is dead. If he WERE a faceless man, you really think Trant (pretty sure it was Trant) would have left that room alive?
I didn't say he would come back as Syrio.
Jaqen shouldn't actually be the Kindly man either but that doesn't mean he can't look like him for the show. You could wonder how the Kindly man managed to get Syrio's appearance but the show doesn't need to explain itself too much and he can already do other weird stuff (the worm thing).
i don't think that's going to happen. introduces a whole new conversation in which arya asks why he looks like syrio. or else confuses the fuck out of show watchers by inexplicably having syrio show up and arya never acknowledge it.
i mean, i suppose they could, but it would be really shoddy storytelling.
no that's moon tea
edit: hmm nvm lady smallwood calls it tansy tea. so either GRRM made a minor mistake, or it's both. In the scene with Hoster, though, it sure seems like it's someone's name. i might be remembering it wrong, though. definitely time to reread.
yeah, time to reread.
you'll need to read a fair bit of cat's chapters from storm, but I think what you're after is mostly when she first gets imprisoned and then right before (or maybe after) he dies
I'm like... right in the middle of it atm and she hasn't said shit about it since her first long sitting with him I think.

Only tease I care about is a fucking release date.
so Sean Bean was asked if he was gonna return to the show for flashbacks and said (possible spoiler depending on how much he actually knows/is just speculating)
Spoiler: show
Anyone who's read the book at this point and still thinks Ned is Jon's pops would be either in denial or stupid.
yeah aint no way. kinda sounds like he's read the books; show only people may not have caught on to that yet.
be neat to see.
