I've been around BG long enough to know that, as a community, we pretty much bat .1000 on predicting relationship outcomes, and always give pretty damned sound advice. Getting the opinion from people who aren't vested in you and couldn't care less about you or your significant other is the most objective viewpoint you can get. I've also been in the OP's girlfriend's position and the OP's position. It doesn't end well either way. Cut your losses kid.

As others have already pointed out, you are now in a lose lose situation. You already showed her that she has ALL the power and that basically she has free reign to see/do who/whatever she wants, and all shes going to get for it is at 2 weeks to do just that. Then dump you for the other guy. Cut you losses now, and save yourself some hassle in the long run. Move on, find a girl that doesn't entertain the idea of liking someone else, because she's to caught up in you/the both of you.

The only thing that could have possibly saved this was putting yourself in a position of power over the relationship. Right now, she has all the power. She told you she had feelings for another guy and you give her "two weeks". Whether you two stay together or not is entirely her decision, and she knows it.

Had you gotten pissed, confronted her point blank and talked this out face to face, without letting her get an edge on you, it might have ended differently. The key is to believe she's not good enough for you anymore, and that whether you would let her stay with you is far from guaranteed. Note, I said that you need to believe she's not good enough for you. If you believe it, she will. She needs to know she's committed the wrong, so it's her ass in the balance, not yours.

Yet, somehow, you're acting like you did something wrong, and want her to stay, and if she leaves, the door will be open for her to come back. She's got all the leverage, and you've got nothing she wants. She has your approval no matter what, and impressing you is meaningless since you give it freely. Make her earn your approval, and respect, and it'll have more value. Then, she might have actually wanted it.

So I get a call about 20 minutes ago with my girlfriend and she is hysterical crying and upset. I find out this guy she told me about last week she hangs out with on campus occasionally told her he does have feelings for her but respects our relationship which is now going on 6 months. He hasn't made any moves or anything but she has started to develop feelings for him and doesn't know what to do hence why she called me in tears. She has been in several relationships one of which was 3 years and never felt this way before.

I honestly don't know wtf I should do. I'm half tempted to go up to the school and dislocate his jaw with my fist but part of me says that will only make it worse. this is actually very true, especially if a girl is insecure. she may be looking for reassurance that you love her/are willing to fight for her. it's nice to know that your boyfriend gets a little jealous when someone else likes you - although i don't know about going as far as to say you have feelings for the guy, too.

This can be a double edged sword though. A man shouldn't have to go thru tests and hoops every time a chick somes some reassurance. Relationships are hard as it is to fight to keep them together.
