Gunna be another console full of shovelware with two or three good games, calling that shit now. The fact the new Zelda isnt out yet is really shitty as well, they might as well delay that and have it as a launch title for the new console.

honestly all they need is to add a concept approval process like both microsoft and sony have in place.

are you guys serious in defending the wii & how many decent games are out on it? i'm no fanboy, and i've bought every major console since the 8-bit generation (i'm 30 right now so who gives a shit about when i was 4) - take away nintendo's first party titles and honestly tell me the Wii was worth buying. everything left is a bunch of Kinect launch titles (hint: that's a piece of shit also, along with its titles). it's depressing and i really hope it changes, but this has honestly been going on since the n64 (which had way more games i wanted to play than the gamecube; which had way more games i wanted to play than the wii; which had way more games than i wanted to... <--------- NOTICE A TREND?)
That list looks like mainly Wii games not cross platform.
While I don't entirely disagree with your sentiments, there have been some other games - Muramasa, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Sin and Punishment, Madworld (though I disliked it), Epic Mickey, Monster Hunter, and several other RPGs out or on the way, just offhand, that might make the system worth owning for the enthusiast. Not to mention Virtual Console stuff.
Thing too is, writing off first-party stuff isn't great either. That's where a fair number of exclusives come from on any console - at least first-party published.
Arc Rise Fantasia
Endless Ocean 1 & 2
Fire Emblem 10
Soon: Dragon Quest 10
Muramasa
A boy and his blob (eh)
Rune Factory Frontier
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Brawl
Okami (although ps2 version was probably better, idk)
Lost in Shadow (haven't gotten to try this one yet)
+ the ability to pirate the 5 good games that the gamecube had (now THAT was a console with no games. Zelda TP, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, Fire Emblem 9, uhhh, I'm sure there's a 5th :D edit: Pikmin 1/2)
I'm sure I missed a few, and that some of these are a bit of a stretch, but I had a hell of a hard time even coming up with this list in the first place, and that isn't even 20. Yeah, the wii didn't have many good games, but at least for the type of games that I like, the PS3 game list isn't that much bigger, yet. There are enough games to warrant my purchase of the system, though.
(No, I didn't miss Mario Galaxy, that game sucked, so did Mario Kart.)
Skies of Arcadia was a port. Game was originally on the Dreamcast, though the GC version might be easier to find. Technically the GC was the original platform for RE:4 (plus RE remakes), Metroid Prime (though trilogy is on the Wii), and some of the other first party games were decent.
General point more being that nearly any system will only have a relatively short list of truly notable games. For at least some of us, that's enough to justify owning the hardware.
the argument is if its enough to attract the core gamer though, which will be essential for them going forward. the problem with the casual gamer is there is no need for them to update to the next gen. they can already bowl all they want, why do they need to drop another $200-300 just to do it in high def?
And whats wrong with 1st party titles? 1st party titles make the system great, and there are a lot of them. Yes my xbox gets far more love than my Wii ever will, but i still like it. Like it or not Nintendo 1st party titles make some of the best games available on the market today. They are as large a player in the gaming market as Ubisoft or Bioware. This new system is gonna benefit a lot from the 3rd party titles that they get, at least for a couple of years until the next microsoft and sony consoles come out. After that we're gonna just have dull gamecube.
