I cannot find them in Mun Tuy... I found Twiggy, but not the actual mobs.

edit: nevermind, I found the thread, it's the thread about Spriggans, not actually about Hatching-Tide.

The Spriggan mobs are not inside the three dungeons, that's just where to take the 6 elemental eggs for your Chocobo Egg Cap. The mobs are in places like caves near camps like Drybone/Tranquil/Cedarwood, etc.

To sum it up, there's now a group of Scrambling Spriggans somewhere in each major zone that drop all elemental eggs and 1 of the main Archon eggs for bringing back to town for your Vibrant/Brilliant/Midnight Egg Caps.

The secret is that if you take 1 of each elemental egg to any of the Spriggan NPCs that are hidden in any of the three dungeons (Cassiopeia/Mun-Tuy/Copperbell), they will give you the Chocobo Egg Cap.

Thanalan - Nophica's Wells (?,?) drops Painted Archon Egg
Thanalan - Camp Drybone (34,27) drops Archon Egg
Black Shroud - Camp Tranquil (35,50) drops Colored Archon Egg

P.S. The main egg drops are pretty common and each kill will drop like 2~5 other elemental eggs as well.

I think the upper rank dungeons like nanawa, mistbeard, and tamtara have the egg for the midnight dark egg shell hat. Or is it the level 2 of the lower ranked ones? But I know theyre there deep inside from some copypasta maps on lodestone.

Oh hmm, it looks like the Archon eggs that are required for the specific hats come from different rank areas. I got Colored from Bloodshore and Tranquil Paths areas

So, the Spriggans that drop Colored Archon Eggs, hang around rank 15~20 mobs.

I imagine it goes up by 10 ranks at a time as you go Colored > Painted > Darkened. I don't know anything about Astral/Umbral yet.

Edit: Radical, the Sprinting Spriggans are bundled up in a tiny little cave on the far-east end of the map along with a trio of toxic toads. Yeah, this isn't happening for me.

Also, double-checking... Does the Chocobo Egg Cap require the 6 basic elemental eggs, or does it include Astral and Umbral as well?

Darkened and Umbral eggs are dropped by Spriggans in Mistbeard/Tam-Tara/Nanawa.

I'm not sure if they are Spriggans in Nanawa other than the NPC one. I got my Darkened and Umbral eggs from Copperbell mines.

Twiggy in Muy-tuy isn't giving me a quest or taking my eggs. Not even a ! above its head. I have all the eggs too.

I had to get it from Ziggy in Nanawa. I guess because I started the initial quest in Ul'dah.

I was afraid of that. I guess I was fortunate that the NPCs I went after happened to be in the area corresponding to where my quest was active. Which is kinda' odd considering that obtaining the Chocobo Egg Cap doesn't actually complete the quest like it does when you get Vibrant/Brilliant/Midnight from the NPC in town.

I think activating or completing one of the city's initial egg quests just activates the Spriggan NPC in the region's local mid-rank dungeon.

Sorry for the bump, but can you get your hats back to back? Or is there a cooldown before you can get another?

There's no cool down at all. You can just gather up all the eggs you'll need, trade for the 4 egg caps from the NPC in town, then head to the corresponding dungeon and get the chocobo cap from the Spriggan to complete your collection.
