Steamy Ray Vaughn LOL
I normally dont watch South Park, but nothing was on last night. I thought it was hilarious. The Jim Carrey/penguin shit was hilarious.
I thought the episode was spot on until it was blatantly clear that it was a message from Matt and Trey themselves. Then it just turned sad, but I'll side with them if they want to leave and do other things. I know they have their musical out and thats apparently doing pretty well, so i imagine they want to do stuff like that now.
All you people trying to decipher what this episode meant should go re-watch the Scrotie Mcboogerballs episode. lol
That, and the back and forth between the marshes where sharon was saying "you're shitty" to randy, then he looked right into the camera/screen and said "you're shitty too". Kind of hinted that they are tired of being criticized more and more the past few seasons.I'm probably the only one, but I saw that as Matt and Trey trying to tell everyone that they're almost done making South Park. It's just the same old shit, people get older, etc.
Overall, I don't need to see sphincters releasing but the concept of everything is shit was funny. At first I thought they were just moving the timeline of the show ahead like way back when they went from 3rd to 4th grade, now 9 to 10 yrs old. Would be funny if Sharon's prediction came true and everything was "reset" next week.
It's a two parter and no episode next week, mid-season finale. Will probably come back in September or November like before.
I feel like they went kind of old Futurama tear jerker on us at the end there. I kind of doubt they are going to take him out of the show, perhaps they just wanted to do something different. Felt like they owned all the cynical fans pretty hard though.
They could have also been addressing people loving Randy episodes. I love episodes with him in it, but I feel like a lot of them are close to being the same.
Anybody else notice the arcade machine in the bowling alley?
Honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Stan was gone, and I wouldn't be all that surprised if it did reset.
Maybe that's the point they were getting at... nobody's really "surprised" anymore.
That's just a cop-out, though. I was definitely surprised when they fucking called in Al Quaeda to kill off the Jersey takeover and they flew planes into them and shit lol...
It's kind of sad really cuz it was a pretty good episode with tons of laughs until they tried to "blame" all the fucking people that support them and allow them more freedom than much of anyone has ever had at that level of broadcasting for their own shitty recent writing.
Am I the only one that doesn't read into these episodes too much? I liked it a lot regardless of if next week is the same or if this is a permanent change.
yeah, there's absolutely zero reading involved in South Park. If there's a point to be made, they paint it in large neon letters.
neon letters.. no reading involved... I suck at analogies, or w/e that is
I liked this episode, sorta depressing ending though.
watching it now, the example of tween music in the doctor's office is a Heartsdales song. <3
Yes, Yes I did.
I'm....not sure about this episode. I've been saying that this season, but this was different. Yeah, the randy/sharon part was pretty clear but when kyle started spewing crap during one of his speeches did it for me. I agree with someone else, this seems like blaming the fans but I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. The last 2 season's where great I thought, and they caught a whole hell of a lot of shit over them. This one has been largely unremarkable, and their has been an outpouring of bitching over it. Hell, see this thread. They addressed that though, Stan complains about stuff that actually sucks.
tl;dr - This should have been done last season with all the hate. Now it seems unjustified.
Edit: The song that made the ending as depressing as it was. They've ripped on stevie nicks a lot, hell even in this episode and in that context it was amazing. Now I just hope they don't come out and say something unredeaming like 'writing is hard guys, for real. Gawd".
