Change? In my South Park? I thought that was great.
I mean, nothing has ever changed in that city except for Chef disappearing and Mr. Garrison changing gender and or sexual orientation 70 times. I mean the fucking city gets destroyed by a huge mechzilla or a T.V. starts walking on its own and blowing shit up but the week after it's like nothing happened.

Yeah, I like change. Then again I love pretty much anything about South Park so I may be biased.

Man... that ending was super depressing to me. And yes, South Park can be read very easily with every episode. I've grown up with South Park since episode 1. I've seen every single one, and all the movies. This season has sucked bad. Thinking back, I think the episodes that were the best were when something major happened.

If they were to end SP, that might be the best, rather then running it into the ground like The Simpsons.

Seriously, who can hate on the canadian royal wedding episode? That's one of the best episodes in recent years.

They kind of have. The one where they're doing the school news is pretty telling.

    As is tradition.

That + the small penis episode I thought were both awesome. Only one I found that outright sucked was the Comedy Awards one, the others were at least enjoyable. I dunno, I'm generally easy to please when it comes to television shows, if it doesn't suck and I don't feel like I wasted my time while watching it I'm ok.

The Comedy Awards was worth it for Token/Tyler Perry alone.

    Hehe, cuuuuuuuuute. Super cuuuuuuute.

I knew exactly what you're talking about but that point didn't come off as bitching about writing to be hard but rather that ratings are pointless because people are just going to tune in to tune out and how new organizations are competing with entertainment for ratings is silly.

It does make me wonder now if Stans existensial shit was meant to be an Avatar not for the people who complain about the show but how they feel now about doing the show. They go for the throat when they dont like something, 'show don't tell' is very much not a device they use a lot. But that's reading more into it than is probably there, I'm just sad at the prospect of the show ending in a explosion of butthurt emo rage with lots of collateral damage. I wont look at it like that thought, it lasted 14 seasons before it became a parody of itself to me. I doubt anything else will ever do that.

It was more depressing than funny, but I loved the episode. It feels like they could have expended the topic a little more instead of repeating the same thing (simply turning everything to shit), but I liked what they tried to do anyway.

Concerning earlier comments, I don't think it was written exclusively to answers the complaint about the show. They were relatively neutral the whole time and didn't point any fingers. Hell, even during the ending, Sharon and Randy broke up without making a scene, they just agreed to move on since it wasn't working anymore.

I think the whole point of the Sharon/Randy argument was to illustrate the relationship between South Park and its fans. Sharon was clearly the more mature voice, while Randy doesn't want to grow up and accept that he is getting older. I think using the Stevie Nicks song was the only time South Park has used a contemporary song in a serious way - but it was a great pick (not also just because they parodied her earlier).

I think Randy represents what South Park is, in a sense, a group of kids that never grow up no matter how long they've been on for and once Stan turned 10, "shit got real".

I hope they take this and don't reset it. It would give South Park a very different feel that would be welcome (like when Kenny permanently died, which gave us Butters, or when Mr. Garrison became Mrs. Garrison and vice versa).

I guess Shake Weight's "efforts" were in vain.

As neutral as I am towards Sharon's character - I liked the effect she had on Randy if anything ("go away, I'm listening to my music!")...

I never really got the people who just religiously trash South Park universally as trash. I enjoyed almost every episode I've seen, although I hated a couple this season (CentiPad and Comedy Awards)... still, I don't need to like every episode to be a fan of South Park. Heck, I might have liked CentiPad better if it was Cartman getting his mouth shit in... since he deserves it more than Kyle did...

Might be wrong but I don't think SP's tackled the topic of divorce before, have they? I can already envision some entertaining bits if they keep this change with Randy trying to be the cool parent that gets Stan everything and Sharon trying to be a responsible mother or something, Stan being torn between them. Maybe a custody battle in court. That could be funny.

    ..right?

Actually they had an episode like that a while back where Sharon and Randy split up and Sharon had that new boyfriend while Randy got himself a convertible. It was the Truth or Dare episode where the kids build club houses to try and get kisses from girls.

weird deleted scene southparkstudios has up on their site right now. I don't remember what episode this could be from season 14. Anyone have a clue? Wonder if this is a small hint to next season?

The episodes this season weren't very memorable.. The human i-pad one was alright but I would say the best one was City Wok / City Sushi thus far.

'South Park' to return on Oct. 5, and all the way through 2013. Kick-ass.
A celebratory dinner at Casa Bonita is in order, PopWatchers: The date for the second half of the 15th season of South Park has been announced! Comedy Central confirmed to EW that the animated series will be returning on Wednesday, October 5 at 10 p.m. The latter half of the 15th season will include seven new episodes.

The network also likely put the fears of many fans to rest that the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were calling it quits after they alluded to a possible end to the series during June’s mid-season finale “You’re Getting Old.” Parker and Stone are signed on through 2013, Comedy Central told EW, which will bring the show to a staggering 17 seasons. So while it seemed like the duo had one foot out the door (and the other one on the Broadway stage with their Tony-winning hit musical Book of Mormon), South Park fans can breathe a sigh of relief, and inhale a few more Cheesy Poofs, for at least another two years.

But I’m curious: Are you happy to hear this news, PopWatchers? I can’t imagine many of you wouldn’t be, as you voted South Park the greatest animated television series of all-time. Does this news make the surprisingly touching “You’re Getting Old” feel a little less poignant? Or are you just relieved to know there’s still at least a few more seasons of hilariously offensive adventures to be had from Colorado’s funniest foul-mouthed fourth graders?

The thing I found most entertaining was that they had the Prophet Muhammad fully animated and visible in that episode years ago and no one noticed or cared. And then the whole Dutch drawing fiasco happened and still no one noticed/cared. And then in episode 200, Stan of all people finally brings up that they showed him so fucking long ago.

And after the last season finale, I'm glad to see we got a couple more years left of the show. That's gotta be tough as hell though, running a hit show on Broadway and putting out a show a week (I'm sure there wasn't much overlapping, but still)

I can't wait for some new episodes, even though it'll be tough putting Dark Souls down for 30 minutes to watch them.
