I find it troubling that the same fags who are willing to give ffxiv another chance and are singing about ffxi like it's better than wow are also the ones who want to go to TERA. It makes me fear for TERA if the battered wives want it.

Who is Kuya? Oh, wait, are you one of those guys who is constantly browsing the TERA thread only to pretend you're not interested? Ah, shucks. Too many of those around - not worth paying attention to.

I don't see any contradiction between interest and realistic expectations. Just because i am interested in TERA does not mean i have to flip out when people criticize it, like you for example. But then again, who could possibly deny that you're the biggest fanboy in the forum at this point in time when it comes to TERA?

Don't you think that if i wanted to pretend to not be interested that it would be more efficient to not post in the TERA thread? That'd be the logical thing to do, but i suppose being fanboy, reason is not what you're interested in right now.

I'm excite for Tera as much as the next guy but the dickriding for the game is excessive. I was the same for Aion until I played it, then suddenly realized it was a fucking massive grind.

Lol @ people who think NCsoft start failing with lin2 and Aion, I played lineage 1 in 1998, that game was more grindy than both FFXI and FFXIV combined. The game had 1 quest at level 15 back then, mages were so stupidly overpowered they could 1 shot you even if you wore a full set of Magic resist gear and do it while wearing a cloak of invisibility which back then you didn't pop out of invis when attacking someone.

The game was full of newby campers who did nothing but pk lowbies, you had to be level 30+ to global chat which took almost 2 months of 8hr grinding per day at the time. I remember once I hit level 45 in that game i had quit because 8hrs of grinding got 3% of your level, it took weeks of grinding everyday to get 1 level post 45 in 8hr sessions where you had to PRAY you never lag died and lost exp and leveled down.

Gear in that game was so awfully hard to get when I played. Lineage 1 in its heyday would make the biggest masochist of FF14 cry. Ncsoft makes terrible games, it is no wonder Aion is fail, it seems to be a theme of asian games where its nothing but grind to max level and then pk newbs because people get owned when they fight another max level player.

I know nothing about TERA so I won't speculate, I have not followed the game at all unfortunately but based on what people say it has people very excited.

What's MMO? Turned based auto-target lock fighting games? Hmm.

If you're from the old continent (Europe..), you know Frogster & Nexon etc. will always fuck us over.

Meanwhile Arenanet does a lot for GW in Europe, sees the community as a whole and (hopefully) they'll give us the chance to play with people from all over the world like in GW1. And the game looks awesome.

    Easy choice really.

Holy fuck. So happy I didn't say anything bad about TERA (I've been in the thread a few times and posted how I wouldn't mind playing), but my god at the defense force indeed.

@Lineage 1: Yeeeeah. I had a friend who played it religiously. I think he still has an account.. last I checked anyway. Are the servers still even up on that shit?

    hahaha so true

anyway, i would like to try tera out, even if my expectations have been pumped up a bit by potentially biased fanboys. and while i don't expect much out of ff14, who knows, there's a small chance it'll be saved from the wreckage. and if none of those work out? maybe it's just a sign that my mmo gameplay career started and ended with ffxi.

GW2 for me, no question. Don't know jack about TERA so maybe I'll educate myself, although every Korean MMO has sucked in the past so they will have a massive hurdle to get over if they want to stand a chance against some of the big guys in the U.S.

GUYS, PLAY TERA OR I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU.

Nah, but seriously, that's what beta's for. Look for open beta to be around August. I'll be trying out GW2/TOR betas myself. :3

After hearing so much about Schilling's company and the Copernicus project both in the gaming press and the local news (their new offices here in RI opened last week) it was nice to see at least a preview of what they've been working on. It looks REALLY good even if it's just a short teaser.
