Five Guys for a burger all day, er'day. For my NC/SC/Tenn people, Cookout is the shit also.

Five Guys is pretty damn good >_> Obviously terrible for you, but tasty.
Hardees since Carl's Jr. bought them is pretty good too. Prior to that they were terrible.
Burger King for burgers, but I've tried to swap to eating only grilled chicken when I have to go to fast food. Subway for breakfast with their ham, egg, and cheese on english muffin.
Taco bell is the only thing that screws with my stomach at times.
Fries, regular hamburger (not a little) and a drink at 5 Guys costs me like $6 with Usf student discount at the one near me...its a dangerous deal. Although their fries are kind meh at times. Potential is there but half the time I have to put salt on them myself because they forgot to season them and almost every time I go the fries are hella soggy. And I dont like ketchup so all I can use for dipping sauce there is their WAY too sweet BBQ sauce. Best burgers around though.
rich, I think you're putting too much stock into that one time you threw up from BK. theres nothing in it that is THAT bad to make you instantly throw up unless something major is going on in your head. not really a major loss or anything though.
Five Guys for us is the best fast food burger out here since we have no In-N-Out or Carl's Jr. Whataburger is the next best, but would trade them for In-N-Out anyday. Never tried Carl's Jr.
Edit: Whataburger breakfast taquitos FTMFW though
since no one else answered.
In and Out is actually not franchised. Every one that they've made is directly controlled by the owners and their family. They use fresh ingredients (nothing is frozen, they even peel the potatoes there for the fries).
They refuse to franchise it because they want to make sure they keep an eye on all the restaurants to keep the quality up.
And it shows, it fucking rocks.
I pity anyone who's never tried it.
In n Out is the most overrated burger joint out there lol. Having said that, Wendy's > all. Fuck burgers, that Spicy Chicken sandwich is what god eats when he wants fast food.

never tried it but everyone says it's DELICIOUS!
I tried 5 guys for the first time when I was on travel for work due to my co-worker saying how awesome it was. I was less then impressed. It wasn't bad, but perhaps all the hype leading up to it let me down. Wouldn't go out of my way to try again though.
Wendy's has always been #1 for me. Used to have one right outside where I work (in Japan), but they changed it to a Mos Burger, whatever the hell that is. I can find a BK/McD's/KFC and Taco Bell, but I haven't been able to find another Wendy's yet. Fuck you Japan, fuck you.
Woah. Can you get a student discount at every Five Guys? I keep my student ID handy at all times.
Highly doubt that. One I go to is right near USF campus. They dont even really advertise it, I just asked one day because some other places do in the same plaza (Firehouse & Evos) and they're like "yea, you get free fries when you buy a burger and drink." Can't hurt to ask if you have one near a college campus.
hardees has always been carl's jr. its just been an area thing, east coast got hardess and west had carl's jr, but now im pretty sure they decided to just make all of them carl's jr.
the sonic by my house used to have awesome fries then they started slacking, and i fucking love five guys, lol i gotta get that shit tomorrow! sounds amazing
If a chain like Five Guys is your favorite burger place, I weep for you. Find a local hole-in-the-wall grill and get your shit on. Five Guys' load-all-the-free-toppings-except-bacon-on-your-subpar-burger-you-want gimick does not sustain.
If you're in the Silicon Valley, CA, I recommend St. John's for all of your burger needs. Forever.
well, there is a place called Cherry's near downtown denver that was on man vs food and their burgers are fucking amazing, but so expensive. im def. with u on that though, hole in the wall joins > all
Its a matter of price, convenience, and quality. Obviously people arent saying its the BEST burger they've ever had or anything, jesus. The place you referenced is a gd restaurant. And if they dont give you fries with the burgers/sandwiches there (which the menu never says they do & has an option for small side of fries) then that place is a rip off.
I make better burgers myself than any restaurant I've been to o_O
edit: though I guess that would be obvious
