It kinda goes without saying that most ppl's favorite burger won't come from a fast food restaurant. But, chains have national recognition. I can say that my favorite burger place is a bar called Piper's Kilt in Eastchester, NY but that's gonna mean fuck all to mostly anyone on this forum.
I was super excited when they started putting up 5 Guys around the area. I've been a couple of times and really haven't been disappointed. Another chain that has started to pop up is Smashburger. The burgers were pretty good, but the damn sweet potato fries were amazing.
Also, AAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YYYYYYEEEEAAAAAA to Whataburger Taquitos. Thank the burger gods for 11pm-11am breakfast service!
I try not to eat fast food, but if I need a hamburger quickly without making it myself I have to go to Rallys/Checkers. I'm honestly surprised no one has mentioned it yet unless everyone but me thinks it is absolute shit.
On the topic of fries...Chic-Fil-A waffle fries.
I like their spicy chicken when it's 2 for 2, but other than that, I never eat there.
Hardees has been around since 1960, but was only purchased by Carl's Jr. (well, CKE restaurants, the parent company) in 1997. They started using the star logo around then, and started doing the menu changes as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardees
I actually recall it more because I lived in CA, moved to Japan, and then to VA, and recognized the branding when Hardees started "introducing" the Carl's Jr. star as a mascot.
Is there no A&W in the states? Teen Burger is the best fast food burger around!
There are a few A&Ws around where I live, but they are so few and far between we hardly go. I've been a couple of times and it was pretty good, but nothing special.
When I lived in MI i loved Rallys/Checkers. I think they are a more midwest chain. I haven't been to one in ages though. Everytime I go back to MI, I spend days at White Castle... omnomnom.
We don't have White Castle down here, but I did find a Krystal burger, which is almost an exact copy. Now that's some amazing burgers. I love those little ass steamed burgers.
I remember back in college we would get drunk as fuck and go to the 24 hour mc d's. Double cheeseburgers were $1 at the time(might still be). As far as burgers go now though, I have to agree on Five Guys.
mcdoubles are fukin delicious
They have Checkers scattered around both the Philly and VA Beach areas (where my parents live) and they do have very good burgers. The only problem I've had is that every single time I've ever been to one they've screwed up my order. I seriously mean every single time, without fail. When I lived in MI i loved Rallys/Checkers. Checker's/Rally's Fries = da best
A Five Guys opened here a couple years ago. I went and tried it after reading they won some best burger in the US vote. I was not impressed. And holy shit they gave me about 10 pounds of french fries, way too much. In-N-Out is the best in my opinion.
yeah I hear that In-N-Out is pretty much the best shit ever. Steve Brule definitely approves.
I always get distracted by that one burger place with the Miss Turkey commercial. DATASS.
