The gov does not have any money. For the gov to buy something it has to take it from you. If the gov buy/subsedise cheap corn which in turn are sold to you for a "lower" price the product WILL become more expensive in the end because the system (big gov) needs to be paid aswell. The gov is just a cancer on society that siphers off money in circulation. The hard work you do ends up as money in the pockets of thieves.

You mean the ongoing gov't moratorium on deepwater drilling that's not ongoing as of last October?

Or do you mean the ongoing moratorium that BP's conducting against using local fishing vessels & crews to help clean up the mess that the spill created?

Government regulations weren't "released". Actually they were tightened with respect to safety and prevention.

Jobs are coming back tho? The fishing and tourism industries in four states have been decimated by loss of demand, and will continue to be affected for decades. Not to mention the ecological system - we're just starting to see the short-term damage to marine life. What's the economic and environmental damage gonna be long-term, when we start seeing more frequent fishkills, miles of red algae blooms along the Gulf Coast, and the continued loss of barrier marshlands that are supposed to help keep the storm tides under control?

BTW It was kinda chilling when a fishing boat captain from Grand Isle said the other day you can either have shrimp with oil & dispersants, or shrimp that glow in the dark referring to Fukushima.

Money is debt, and debt is money. Consideration is something of value given by a promissor to a promisee in exchange for something of value given by a promisee to a promissor.

A farmer can pay a plumber 100 apples to fix his toilet or give him an I.O.U for 100 apples. This I.O.U is a form of paper money. However the government often comes in and counterfeit this I.O.U. The gov then goes to the farmer and knock on his door and demand 50 apples which does not exist. Inflation = Counterfeiting, that is why the CONSTITUTION only allows gold and silver to be legal tender. (Interesting read: guy gets arrested for using gold as money).

Legalizing competing currencies is the first step to reducing the size of government.

Also lol @ the gold nutter.

Also, fact check: nowhere in the constitution does it forbid the federal government from making monetary instruments other than gold and silver.

I always thought debt was the absence of money. Learn something new everyday.

Why would I bother? You've shown time and time again that you will simply ignore contradictions between your beliefs and reality.
