Well that's disappointing SE is not making the HQ pops 100%. Edited the OP to the edit SE did. Now I don't see any reason why BB items aren't 100% tbh. Again though I guess time will tell whether the drop rates are reasonable.

Good, good. All we need now is to obtain a kraken club by trading a shellbuster to a NPC and the game will have reached the level every whiner wanted it at from 2003-2009.

No comment. Some things about ppl whined are good some don't. Changing fucking stupid HNMs pop condition that only makes happy ppl that using bots is a good thing. Too late? maybe, but still good. Even a slow but visible progress in the chance of poping Hq is much better and much justice reward system then trying to beat botters or JPs on 21-24h pop. Getting a JoL set is probably still much more time consuming then getting 99KS and none is crying about it and novio and even AV rewards are similar in value to Kings drop now.

How to obtain the trigger items:

Fafnir: Treasure from “Early Bird Catches the Wyrm”
Behemoth: Treasure from “Horns of War”
Adamantoise: Treasure from “The Hills are Alive”
* At least one of these items will be dropped in every battle.

Maybe this means you could get more than 1 trigger item from 1 ks99 battle as it saids "At least one".

When I read the topic title I figured it would be for Gukumatz and Amun. Rofl kings... shit is even later to the party than official forums.
And then reading the nerf to kings on BB items... I just died from laughter. Sure, even if it is 50% drop it isn't so bad, but they aren't saying trigger for HQ is 100%, I'm feeling a ZNM trophy scenario incoming. Starting to feel sorry for new monks, hope it isn't so bad XD

Of course....SE could make KS99 orbs drop from other venues to balance this out.

In a way, it seems silly to make one of the only useful things that comes from three kings harder to get. Also, wtf is going to determine if the NM pops HQ or not? Did I miss something?

Without reading the official forum thread, I'd guess that they don't have any KS's because they leeched their way up to 90 in Abyssea.

I doubt this will be a claim war over the ???. Maybe in the first couple of days, but after the influx of KS spamming dies out (will there even be people spamming?), I seriously doubt they will be popped much after that. The only positive is this has the potential to alleviate some of the pains of getting Black Belt for my wife and a friend, but this doesn't look to appealing overall <_<

Better than playing a game that may as well be considered a private server with everything delivered on a silver platter. FFXI was always accomplishment driven motivation to play. WoW has more sense of accomplishment than FFXI now, and that's just sad.
