I don't think she expected attention for this. I think she felt the poseur undertones were a little too strong and legitimately didn't want it released.
Probably had basically no respect for what weird al does, considering how similar the shit she does really is, and how easy it is for her, and assumed nothing would come of it.
You have to be 10 years old or retarded to click a link to weird al bashing gaga and calling her out on her bitchy poseur bullshit?
You forgot IM FAT, YOU KNOW IT
Also I haven't paid much attention to weird al for a long time, but I don't recall any other of his songs being specifically about how completely fake the original artist is.
edit: now that I think about it I honestly can't think of another song he's done that was even about the actual artist directly, most of his parodies (see: amish paradise) are just outlandish
miiiiiiiiiiight as well face it you're addicted to spuds
Fuck man, now I went looking to see if I could find any that were, and I remembered how awesome he can really be lol.
the yeah, yeah, yeah, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah guy is fucking amazing
and I guess smells like nirvana was about them but... a little different than this heh
OMG, how many more people will Weird Al kill?

ummm Smells Like Nirvana was about how you can't understand their lyrics.
Granted from what they've said, they were rolling around laughing with "omg it's so true!" when they heard it, but ya he was directly talking about them in it.
Also, he his did It's Still Billy Joel to Me, which is all about Joel not giving a shit because he's rich. (which is actually kinda true, Joel has always taken the stance that he can't write songs about being poor or w/e 'cause he feels like he's lying, and always wants to be honest about his lyrics)
So ya it happens.
Maybe he means Couch Potato? I remember Weird Al was going to make a music video to parody the Lose Yourself video but it was denied, even though Marshall gave permission for the song on the album (and a sample of Real Slim Shady as part of one of his medleys).
I just remember Eminem getting pissed off about a Weird Al song. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong one.
I'm still surprised people find him funny. In middle school and part of high school all the gamers/goofy kids fucking worshiped him, but now he's just...eh. More power to you if you still find it funny, I just always thought liking weird Al was a phase everyone grew out of eventually.
