No, the vanity stuff is the only "equipment" in this update as far as I know.

the only thing I don't like is that if you're wearing any costume at all, it eliminates the light-effect you get from Molten Armor while moving

Terrain generation on new worlds is really... weird now. A lot more hills (and quite a few cliffs, requiring you to build/dig your way around), and seemingly a lot more water. Anyone else notice this?

I killed a Dr Bones it had 500HP and it was night time. It looked like a Zombie with a safari hat on and dropped that hat. I cant remember if it was a blood moon or not but i think it was.

Edit: Also it was on the surface.

My Dr. Bones spawned in the jungle. Then hopped in a bunch of lava =( No idea if it was night or not.

PS. Toss a bomb at a Goldfish to kill it.

So what's everyone going to do about the new biome on their existing worlds? I found a nice little stretch of open space between 2 deserts so I'm replacing the top layer of dirt with mud and planting seeds, but I dunno how that's going to look

Also from what I'm understanding, Ninja outfit pieces drop randomly from King Slime, and from what I've seen Harpies and Snatchers don't drop anything in particular. Dr. Bones supposedly drops the Archaeologist's Hat, dunno about the legs/hat though. I haven't seen any way to get the Plumber Hat, Top Hat, and Robot Hat either, although I'm guessing one of them drops from The Groom? Anyone see that yet?

edit: Top hat = Groom
Plumber hat = rare drop from fire imps/bone serpents (supposedly)
Robot hat = rare drop from piranhas

I just used the map editor to make a giant patch of mud and then I'm just going to throw down some seeds when I get on, definitely not resetting my world unless they add some sort of ability to copy regions on one map and paste it into another.

You know, I have never had a chance encounter with Eye of Cthulhu after I killed Skeletron. Before I killed him, I was being harassed by it every other night. Killing him may remove random-encounter bosses... maybe?

I hope not as well, especially since there's no known bait for Slime King.

edit: oh herpderp. I guess Eye of Cthulhu only randomly attacks if you have never beat him. I hope that means Slime King will still appear no matter who you've killed. I have spent so much time wandering around the surface and I have yet to see anything new besides Harpies/Goldfish/Rabbits (old world).

I've killed a horde of piranhas, and I haven't seen this so-called robot hat... but they DO drop hooks, which is kind of nice!

I don't really like the Robot Hat.

I don't know if it's just because I have a green character that the little green ears blend in, but it seems so plain compared to some of the other things. It also doesn't help that I'm at like 6 hats, but the only bodies I have access to are the Plumber ones. Makes me want to kill Fire Imps even though I don't really want to go all the way down there to camp them.

Robot Hat is amazing purely for the Cave Story reference.

I'm just sportin' my Hero's outfit until I get something better... fighting Demon Eyes, pretending I'm playing Zelda 2.

also, regarding King Slime:

The King Slime appears spawn completely at random, it has been seen both above and below ground, during night and day. It has been theorized that the King Slime's spawning may require at least one person on the server to have some amount of current health, similar to the Goblin Invasion.

So I went to grind fire imps and I had 4 bone serpents attacking simultaneously. Hell: Not Fucking Around.

Yeah, I just tried to build a small fortification down there... while holding a shitload of Water Candles (if the amount matters). It was fucking ridiculous. I could lay like 6 blocks down between armies of Fire Imps and Bone Serpents reaming me. I'm kinda' happy that there's a bit of challenge re-injected into the game, even when you're max'd out... but sheesh.

I finally got my first Flamelash from that adventure. Not to mention 3 more Sunfuries.

Still, absolutely no sign of the Plumber's Hat... or the Slime King... or Dr. Bones... or The Groom... or the Robot Hat... or the Bunny Hood... I only got my one and only Wizard's Hat the other day from the only Tim I've come across.
