    That's what I've done, and I've forgot how difficult low level monsters can be. The new monster additions make it more interesting... that being said, cave bats rape my shit.

    The only thing I gave my new guy was a mana ring, three mana stars, and Vilethorn. Vilethorn was abandoned after I got a gold broadsword and I'm pretty much playing the same way I did before. There's only two cave systems breaching the surface between my house and both sets of corruption, and I've mostly explored both with no real decent finds. Whoo, Jester Arrows!

    I have spent far too much time playing this game already. The vanity items are alright, but I'm really hoping they add more bosses with more interesting weapons/armor/accessories eventually.

    I hope they add more mage-specific armor/accessory options once they make harder enemies/bosses so you'll actually have the option of going full caster or heavy-hitting melee. I don't think the current damage boost made it realistic quite yet.

    Also, fuck the Plumber's Hat. Worst drop for me yet.

    None of the magic is really worthwhile as a main damage source, even with the Wizard's Hat. I really did try, I wanted it to be, but just losing the cost reduction and bit of mana regen from taking off a piece of the jungle set makes sustainability difficult, and without the hat damage is not enough, even with flame lash and flower of fire.

    Well in one week I got everything in the game I could want, what now. :/ I actually npced a plumbers hat earlier, had no idea where I got it and didn't want it by any means. Sorry guys

    I've started to play with the level editor on a new world to kill time. It's pretty fun to play around with since some of the unnatural things you can do are fun once you play around with it. It just can get annoying when you talk about it though since nobody wants to trade with you for duped items, whether they are actually duped or not.

    I'm sure anyone with mild computer knowledge can see how easy duping is, but what's the point? You can get everything in a couple weeks, and doing that is the fun part. I mined up like 1750 hellstone last night in about 3 hours. Even if they had worlds and players hosted server-side like D2 it's just too easy to get everything to even matter. I do think they should have spread it out a lot more, I got the Shadow Armor and was pretty excited, then 2 days later I have full molten and necro. Maybe I should stop looking at it as an RPG and more for what it is.

    It's fun as hell, just needs a lot more content for us hardcores.

    Yeah, I was always full Cobalt/Jungle armor because of Rocket Boots. I tried out some Molten Armor just for the defense for fighting off assloads of Fire Imps, and it is unbearable not having that mana regen for navigation. They need to gimp Rocket Boots or something so people have a reason to not use them 100% of the time, requiring mana regen armor/accessories.

    I seriously don't bother using other movement accessories. I keep a lucky horseshoe sometimes because I'm a clumsy oaf >.> but otherwise it's Rocket Boots + 2 mana regen + 2 feral claws. Full jungle. Masamune selected. Hurf.

    I'm always using something along the lines of:


    Armor: Jungle set

    Weapons:
    Masamune (flying enemies or for projectile deflecting)
    Starfury (bosses and worm-types on flat terrain)

    Spells: Orb of Light

    Accessories:
    Lucky Horseshoe (I am clumsy as well)
    Rocket Boots
    Cobalt Shield (I despise knock-back more than anything)
    Band of Regeneration (so I can idle my HP back up without even thinking about potions)
    The last accessory slot, I usually swap shit in and out of. Flippers if I'm manipulating lots of water, Obsidian Skull if I'm dealing with Meteorites/Hellstone, Depth Meter for determining farm locations, Band of Starpower otherwise.

    The wikia says Shiny Red Balloon increases the Rocket Boots' velocity. I'm wondering if it's better using the balloon over a mana ring.

    Just did a small test on it (forgot my depth meter so I had to improvise with blocks) and it seems that the balloon is the only really effective way to increase the jumped distance by anything meaningful.

    The balloon increased the jump from a 99 block jump with a starband to a 124 block jump with the balloon. By comparison, a regular jump with nothing on was a 97 block jump and cloud in the bottle jump did 98. There is ofcourse a little error in the tests simply because I was jumping against a long wall and then activating the rocket boots at what I thought was the height and then spamming the block button when i got near the top, but I don't think that could account for such a large difference. I tried to do the test a couple times and got generally the same result, only being off by 1 block at most.

    Alright then, back to a balloon. I kinda like that utility mixture, but I'm loathe to lose my feral claws -- they really turn Masamune from a weedwacker to a lawnmower.

    -Potion makes ore, pots, and chests glow and sparkle? That isn't new ore. Look closely, you'll see the purple/pink disappear when he gets close to it.
    -Explosive Arrows
    -Lances
    -Varied Swords of the same tier? I think that's a longer/slower Demonite blade.
    -His "Rocket Boots" leave a purple trail.
    -Walk on Water/Gravity potions?
    -New music for jungle/other areas?

    From what I can see from left to right:

    - A movement speed buff
    - A toggle-able gravity inversion ability
    - A night vision buff that makes mobs glow green
    - A glowing body buff that makes your character emit light
    - A water walking buff, hopefully toggle-able
    - An ore finder buff that makes ore/gemstones glow purple
    - A treasure finder buff that makes makes jars and chests sparkle
    - A life-regeneration buff
    - I have no idea... possibly increased mob-spawns?

    From other screenshots, it looks like some sort of ranged attack buff or ranged projectile velocity buff?
