oh snap, can you harvest them?
oh snap, can you harvest them?
Haha, yeah, I just tried it out. Make a Hardcore mode character, kill it, log on with your normal character and hammer it away. It functions as an edit-able sign, so you can put whoever you want in your graveyard. It defaults to the death message that the character died by.
When I placed a tombstone, I crashed Terraria. Ah well! Also, Hell is FUCKING ANNOYING now. GO AWAY LAVA SLIMES! GOD. But a lot of the other stuff is fun. Still gonna throw myself at underworlds til I get a stupid lance.
Yeah, all of my massive wooden bridges that spanned most of my underworld are full of holes from Lava Slimes. Not to mention some mud caved in all by itself in my jungle, dumping a shitload of lava on top of a bunch of crap I built in the underworld. I found that the best thing to do with Lava Slimes is ignore them and try not to kill them. With any decent amount of defense, they only do 1 damage.
Oh, and while Lava Slimes are the worst... Obsidian Skin Potion is the best. I <3 swimming around in magma. Too bad I have yet to even find one Fireblossom.
So far, I am still trying to get/find/make/buy... (I have lost so much money dying in the underworld today)

Doctor's stuff you buy from the clothier at certain times. Made a night's edge, it's pretty terrible - stick to muramasa. I actually found a dark lance in the Dungeon, so you don't need to go to the Underworld for that. Punched a couple of sharks in the head, got a diver's helm. That was awesome. I used my dark lance to DEMOLISH a bone serpent at random, fucker drops a sunfury.
e: also, the arms dealer will sell silver bullets during a blood moon. awwww yeah. I still want to try some poisoned knives, too...
I ended up just making a new world to play on since the updates made a lot of my old one obsolete. I can't even get to my damn castle now without a ladder.
Does anybody know if its possible to host 2 servers at once? I'm betting so; just use different port numbers for them or something.
How do you update the terraria server console? Mine is still at 1.04 and I can't join any worlds it's hosting because my game is 1.05.
I run a dedicated headless box that hosts a Minecraft server and two Terraria servers. It's not a gaming box by any stretch. I had to install Steam on it to update Terraria. The new server executable is updated at the same time as the rest of the game. Once it's done I just unload Steam.
I'm not sure what your setup is, but I have terraria server running on a server at work. I have to manually copy over all the terraria game files to the server every time it gets updated.
anyone have night's edge yet? I have three of the four ingredients and can make light's bane pretty easily, but before I sacrifice my precious Muramasa I want to make sure it's worth it.
edit: lol, didn't read the posts above me. good to know. I'll stick to Muramasa.
I'm just a regular guy running on Windows 7, going into the steam folder to launch the Terraria Server console so me and my friend can play. The problem is now though that my game updated to 1.05 but my server console is still 1.04, so when I load my world into it no one can join because our games are at 1.05.
Yeah, the new sword blows. It does barely more dmg than the fiery greatsword, and it's slow as balls. I want a fiery muramasa or something.
I guess what happened was I was hosting a server with the console, seen that there was an update so I logged off. Steam updated the game the second I logged off before I could even exit the console. So in short the game updated but not the console. I just backed up my shit and reinstalled.
for whatever reason, Waterleaf seeds seem to be really hard to get compared with the others. I know only the little fully grown plant icons grow seeds it seems, but I have yet to see a single waterleaf seed. The good news is that once you have a seed they're really easy to get more, just plant in a flowerpot and wait until fully grown. You can get 1-3 seeds from a fully matured plant. I guess that means my next project is a huge, 6 room flowerpot farm for each of the 6 alchemy herbs, gonna need a shitload of clay now too.
Currently only have 1 antlion mandible too, wish these things spawned more often during blood moon but I don't think they even spawn at all at night.
I made one using copies of my swords, so no big loss. Still, I don't see running around in 5x feral claws while using a robo-clicker.
Night's Edge is powerful, but it just doesn't make up for the slow speed. Even with Infernal armor, you're not going to be one-shotting much, which would be the only point of using a slow, powerful weapon.
Dark lance is quite a lot of fun, on the other hand, but it's NOT like using a sword. There is no arc, it's just a direct forward stab, which can get you into trouble. It's amazing against bone serpents, though, and I imagine it'd be pretty boss on EoW, or large monsters in general. It fucked up some sharks I fought, too.
Each of the plants apparently has "bloom" condition; waterleaf has to be next to water to bloom and spawn seeds, as fireblossom has to be next to lava. Daybloom has to be cut during the day, moonglow at night, and deathweed apparently only blossoms during a blood moon. Welp.
e: seriously, i'm using molten armor to boost Night's Edge's damage, and I can't one-shot zombies and eyes on the overworld? GTFO.
Yeah, the weapons in this patch are all pretty underwhelming when it comes to serious battle. Dark Lance and Demon Scythe are fun, but their best uses are killing easy crap quicker. They need to top Muramasa somehow, even though they actually made (in my opinion) it slightly better for important things (Hornets/Demons/etc.) by reducing its knock-back.
