So does anybody have any brilliant suggestions on how to get my multiple servers to work?
edit: fixed it
I've started a new world (large) hosted on my server at work.
server is handymanpc.net, port 7777, pw is 'bg'.
I don't have any grand plans or designs. I'd ask that you not destroy everything in sight, but beyond that, I don't care too much.
I've uploaded the worldview map of it:
http://corenffxi.com/world4.png
I've also got a private world that has nearly every item, as well as tons of building materials. PM me if you want the link to dl it.
So I finished my little greenhouse in my main mansion, it has 60 pots total (10 of each). Should I build a separate, freestanding greenhouse that has a lot more? I think my ultimate goal is to have my home world totally built up, basically with a city covering all/most of the surface, so I guess a big greenhouse tower would be a good first step.
I am having a total OCD moment about the bridges I have down in the underworld. Some are dirt, and some are ash which need to be replaced, but I have a shitload of stone and I'm thinking stone bridges would look really nice... but I don't even want to think about how hard it's going to be to replace everything with all the mobs down there. Does obsidian skin/ironskin/thorns/regen potions all together give you enough protection to spend long periods in the underworld without having to spam potions?
I just found and broke my first shadow orb, had to use some dynamite to blast through the stuff I in the corruption that I can't mine with a gold pickaxe. Got the musket(i think its guaranteed on first shadow orb break). But man that musket is awesome.
After I got the musket I got the arms dealer to move in, and then shortly after that it told me that a meteor had fallen.
Couple questions about the meteor. Once it spawns, does it stay in your world, or do you have to wait for it to spawn again if you save and exit?
Another question, I can't seem to find it anywhere, I've tried going in the direction of the corruption, and the opposite direction towards the desert, I suspect that I just haven't gone far enough in either direction yet but my question is: is the location of the meteor completely random?
Also - anyone thats new to the game or wants a decent gardening guide, check this out.

When a meteor falls, it replaces the existing terrain with meteor ore and becomes permanent until you mine it out. Meteor Heads will spawn until there's less than 50 or so blocks of meteorite ore placed on the screen. They drop a lot of money so people like to farm them for cash.
If you're having trouble, dynamite will let you mine up all the ore a lot faster. Also, you'll take fire damage if you touch the meteorite ore unless you're wearing an Obsidian Skull, a craftable accessory made from 20 (I think it's 20) pieces of obsidian. Unfortunately, you need at least a nightmare pickaxe to mine obsidian though, so you'll probably have to be careful for your first meteor.
Since the meteor always replaces the topmost terrain where it falls, if you've run to both edges of the map and still can't find the meteor (make sure you check the bottom of the corruption pits and the ocean floor!) then it probably hit one of your floating islands.
The meteor 'stays'. Once you see it you will see... it is not so much as a meteor as its aftermath. The area where it 'hit' will all be turned into Meteorite. You will also see Meteor Head mobs flying around it (have fun with those...) and they will stay there until you have mined up a certain percentage of the meteorite. I suspect you just haven't gone far enough in a direction to find it. Both times I have had one land on my worlds it has been 'west' of spawn. I don't know how likely it is that a meteor hits a floating island though... I suppose that is possible.
EDIT: Atreides rules...
Meteors falling are events that pretty much fuck up the landscape in a completely random spot on the map, at its highest point and permanently replaces a lot of the blocks with a vague half-circle of Meteorite blocks. When there are 50 or more of those blocks present, Meteor Head mobs will endlessly spawn from off-screen. However, I think it won't land in the middle of the map just because it could severely fuck up your home base and be an obnoxious danger for newer players if it did. If you have ventured across your entire map and have not come across it (it should be pretty obvious), it most likely landed on a floating island.
Since the Meteor will only replace existing blocks and not create new piles, having thin bridges across your map can result in just a tiny strip of Meteorite blocks if one lands on said bridge.
Here is a picture of a pretty standard Meteor landing site on a floating island.
edit:yikes beat'd bad
You had a picture though, so that at least redeems you Mioko =)
I'm in the middle of building my greenhouses on my server if anybody is interested in helping. I want to do some big, cool project like the giant castles and cities that others have made. I'm just not creative enough to come up with a grand scheme. Any takers?
Now I'm curious about how long I'd have to leave the game running in glitch mode to replace the entirety of my map with meteor landings. Weekend project!
I built myself an airship.
Spoiler: show
Since then I've made some changes, but I'm pretty happy with it. The Dryad moved in when Goblins attacked and murdered all but two NPCs. Nobody but me was on at the time.
Your airship needs a chocobo.
Ha. Too bad sand is so annoying to work with.
you can use gold ore, that'd probably look better since it has rounded edges
That is a pretty inspired idea. I'll take that challenge. Though it will probably be too big for my airship, ha.
wow that looks awesome dude
so more meteors can fall before you find and mine the first one? I just figured(no research, just my own guess) that another couldn't spawn until you mined the previous one.Now I'm curious about how long I'd have to leave the game running in glitch mode to replace the entirety of my map with meteor landings. Yeah, more than one can fall at any time after the first one it seems.

WANT NOW god we are getting spoiled by all these updates. I haven't even played the new minecraft update yet lolTerraria_Blue Blue

@AnimeZer0 We are staying a bit more hushed about 1.0.6 than previous updates. But theres good stuff on the way. Dungeons getting some love.
I wonder what they'll do to the dungeon. I'd love a "Boss Room" at the center/end of the dungeon with a really hard boss, and more variety of mobs maybe. Maybe another decoration (like tapestries or potraits, would give the dungeon a whole castlevania look). Tbh I don't really like the new skeleton design, they look more cartoony than menacing. Do you guys think Underworld should be the hardest part of the game, or should Dungeon be the ultimate end-game content?
Fuck, now I am horny
They need to add a way to change options while in-game. I hate having to drop to main menu to fuck with video settings.
Not sure about endgame - me and my buddy ventured a bit further into the underworld today, was able to get a hellforge and a few hellstone bricks, you can apparently mine that with a gold pick axe. The spawnrate in hell is just obscene, we had to make tunnels just to be safe. I haven't found teh dungeon or meteor site yet but I did find the ocean and the end of the world, didn't check the entire sea floor because it doesn't seem like there is a reasonable way to do such a thing.
After that fun, we saw an evil presence watching us, and then I spawned an eye of cthulu for us to kill, and mid fight of the one we spawned, another one spawned, we managed to kill them both while fighting them at the same time, it was pretty epic.
Managed to get over 100 demonite ores, which sadly only turned into 35 bars. We still don't have shadow scales yet but eater of worlds is next up to be spawned and decimated, so I'm saving the bars til we get some scales to make at least a nightmare pickaxe for both of us.
Is there anything else I should concentrate on making after we get pickaxes? I was thinking about the armor set, but not sure if the sword/battleaxe/bow is worth it or if we should just concentrate on the armor. I mean, theres lots of ways to get kickass weapons, it seems the armor would be the way to go.
