Server info? not sure what you mean by that. It's not updated though, thats for sure. I'm using version 1.0.6.1, which just came out, and BG server won't connect saying it's a different version. (I'm guessing because it's been on constantly and hasn't had a chance to update to newest version of terraria yet.)

ironically, one of the best ways to deal with them is with a vilethorn, for low level weapons....but to get one you need to break shadow orbs... in the corruption. <_<

Granted if you can make it, you can simply throw some dynamite to blow your way up to a few, but its tricky heh.

Sorry guys I was out of town for a couple days for a wedding and left the server up. Of course the game updated while I was gone and I wasn't home to update the dedicated server software. I just updated the server and connected with the most recent update of terraria, so all should be good to connect again.

What I do is try to work my way to the bottom of the corruption zone, as close to some shadow orbs as I can get, if I can't see any I'll just try to make sure its the deepest of the tunnels close by. Once I get to the bottom, I make myself a roof out of any material, so that I can dig in peace, everything spawns outside my tiny little digging area and can't bother me. Before I had a nightmare pickaxe I would just buy purification powder from the dryad(really cheap, turns ebonstone to regular stone in 5x6 squares) and mine a tunnel into new corruption, and then repeat the same process of making a safe zone to dig in once I found a place I could dig to some shadow orbs.

Passing through the corruption zone to get to the other side, you could make a large walkway that goes over the entire zone i guess, it would take a decent amount of time though. You could try gravity potions. Aside from those two things not really much else I can think of to pass through corruption easily. I don't really think either is worth the effort just to get to the other side.

Something else you could try that might work is simply blocking off each tunnel with anything, you could use wood platforms, dirt or stone, that way at least when you get knocked back you dont have to worry about whether you're going to land on solid ground or keep falling to your death, that's what usually kills me.

A broadsword or any weapon with a swing animation really helps for the floating shits.

If you haven't yet, buy a mining helmet from the merchant for 8 gold, makes your life a hell lot easier navigating corruption since it gets fairly dark in there quick.




If you don't have a magic mirror, don't forget that exiting the game is your friend when it comes to getting out of a place quickly and back to the home spawn.

Can you get rid of corrupted thorn weeds? Or whatever those things are called that hurt you if you hit them with a hammer?

You mean altars? No. Well, maybe tnt or something, but otherwise, I don't think so.

I think the only way you can actually get rid of them is if they happen to be sitting on sand and you dig under said sand, causing it to fall. Any other block will be indestructible and thus, unmovable if an Altar is sitting on it... if I recall correctly.

So, I just made a major whoopsie... I found out that playing terraria and using the internet, the terraria screen still reacts even while you click things on the internet screen. So I somehow accidently dumped my bucket of lava in this house:



And knocked a bunch of furnishings over, which I picked up, and then invisible lava destroyed me while I was clearing it out of the house, causing me to drop my items and have some destroyed by said invisible lava. ><; I lost a few items of my own, but I also lost some furnishings of the house too, which didn't help since I wasn't even paying attention to what was in it in the first place cause you know, I wasn't planning on arson. All I know is there was a piggy bank, a piano,a cooking pot, a glass bottle set on something, and I think a bed, which I replaced in the picture shown along with a furnace for good measure, but I'm not even sure of their positions, nor if they were all the items lost. So if the owner of the house would kindly step up and let me know if I missed anything, I'd greatly appreciate it so I can make new furnishings to replace them. thanks, and sorry! ><;

I'm just glad that chests with things in them are invincible to lava, so none of those were hurt in the accident @@;
