Yeah, I've been avoiding playing due to this patch being so soon. Really looking forward to starting a new world with all the new stuff in it. I think they made multiplayer way easier in 1.3 too, so that should be great.

Cloud saving, finally. I've reformatted idk how many times since purchasing this title and always sad when I lose my uber character, or worlds that I'm really proud of what I've made stuff in them. I love this game so much and I'm glad that this is now a thing!

I've wanted to start a new character/world for a while but just couldn't bring myself to do it until this update came through. so excited for all the new stuff! although the coolest stuff will be locked behind a wall of massive grinding lol

Wonder if only characters are cloud saved or if characters are too. I might hop back in and give it a go. I was hoping the update in Starbound would have been what got that game's ball rolling, but still seems like they're on a slow schedule other than offering teasers on a near daily basis.

not sure if characters are cloud saved but I think characters are cloud saved so your character should be fine but your character might not.

Gonna have a server up for BG people tomorrow (it's actually already up, just not 1.3 yet obviously). I've got the ability to host a lot more than one also.

Consider the expert server to be a permanent world, while the normal server is a disposable resource world.

Been out of the loop since the Hallow was added in an update. Copper, Silver and gold have been changed to Tin, Lead, Tungsten? What's the general area/biome flow? My buddy and I have no idea how to proceed.

copper/iron/silver/gold still exist but tin/lead/tungsten/platinum are alternate ores, each world can spawn with one or the other but never both. so you might get copper/iron/tungsten/platinum, for example. there are also hardmode alternate ores and each world can start with either Crimson or Corruption, but never both.


general flow is much the same... mine for better ore -> better equipment -> better ore -> beat bosses -> Crimson/Corruption gear -> jungle -> underworld -> wall of flesh -> hardmode -> gather hardmode ores -> beat hardmode bosses


that is a very simplified version of the game progression. also, you can pretty easily skip jungle if for some reason it bores you.

Kinda. In the last major update (or one before, forgot) they added a bit of RNG to the world creation where the world has a chance of getting the original material or what you added.

There's also a Demon biome that you can get instead of the Destoryer biome. It spreads just like the Destoryer one, but the enemies are different.
