    Best Anti Virus Software

Well my norton 360 is coming to an end and I was wondering what anti virus softwares are better than this if there are any (maybe they are all the same?) I know people always hate on Norton in general but I was wondering if that was an old mentality that just stuck or if it was still true today. I only got norton because its advertised well and my dad wanted it for his and he is the person who pays.

Also side note how would I go about getting rid of an antivirus software completely if I get a new one? Norton doesn't like me uninstalling it much

P.S. coulda sworn there was a sticky with this info a long time ago but maybe I am on crack

Going with MSE as well (also learn not to click on shit that infects you). NOD is great if you can pick it up cheap/free, but none of them work worth a shit any more. I see a few dozen PCs a week that are infected yet have fully up-to-date AV softwares from panda to macafee to norton, etc.

MSE does the job for me and has a very small footprint. Of course nothing can top being a smart user and avoiding clicking on suspicious links.

learn how to use noscript. But if you really want something I'd just get MSE, since it's free.

Hey all, question semi on topic. Currently using MSE, but noticed my cable provider (optimum online/cablevision) offers a free subscription of CA antivirus for its customers. Think it's worth switching over? or not really. Never had a virus problem at home over the last few years, so not sure how this CA thing rates compared to mse

    I'd stick with MSE.

    Paid: Nod32
    Free: MSE

Chrome's lack of NoScript is the only reason to use Firefox. And it's a hell of a good reason. Google's already talked about adding similar functionality to their dev builds with an eventual eye towards public release. Once that happens, Firefox will have to get a lot faster and a lot less memory leaky if it wants to be a competitor.

But yes, otherwise completely echo free = MSE, paid = Nod32.
