So many late nights playing SC2 on Dreamcast.
Was it 3 that had Link on the PS3? That was awesome too.
My hopes are so high for this one.

2 for GameCube had Link -- no way Nintendo would agree to letting him appear on another system.
I wonder if there will be any changes to the 8-way run. In Four, it felt like if you 8way an attack at the right moment, they will get a slight bonus, more realistic dodge. If they plan to make it faster, I wouldn't want to see people running all over the map.
Also, Four had a lot of characters with retarded special moves, i.e. shooting that stupid pistol across the screen, or cyclone dashes across the screen that end up unblockable because of where/how it hits. Teleporting above other characters, smoke grenades, etc. I suppose it would be cool if everyone had moves that weren't confined to their weapon style, but when you give it to 5 characters, and everyone only plays 2 of those 5 online, it gets REALLY annoying.
SC2 is my favourite.
He said it was a difficult question, but then answered it perfectly in a short sentence lolThe Soulcalibur series is famous for the inclusion of characters from other universes, such as Link from The Legend of Zelda and Yoda from Star Wars. Will other non-Soulcalibur characters feature?
"Difficult question," Tago said. "We will have guest characters as we did with Star Wars. Please stay tuned for more information on that."
well he didn't say who, which was kind of the implied subquestion
as for Ivy aging;
Isn't Ivy dead? Like raised from the dead dead
Anyone know which endings from each of the previous games are the "official" ones? I know Siegfried's was the official one for SC4, but don't remember what the other titles were. Just interested to read up a little bit on the storyline from the start.
I swore to god my boyfriend at the time was going to give himself a stroke playing online against Kiliks and most especially Cervantes' players spamming shit, until he realized that you could Guard Impact the ever-lovin' fuck out of Cervantes and spank jack offs who would constantly spam the same moves.
Besides Soul Blade and SC one, the series heavily disappointed me.
Hwang was the best character they've ever had. Soul Blade and Soul Calibur 1, I miss you. RIP Hwang Sung Kyung.
Why so much nostalgia for Hwang? He was always in the game one form or another except for IV, there was actually a boss version in II and playable through gameshark(?), forgot which exactly. Love the character but I think all the QQ'ing about him drowns out the real forgotten player like Li Long.
SC5 was actually gonna be named Soul Edge 2, but Namco wouldn't allow it.
Odashima also tweeted a few other interesting tidbits about the game recently. Keep in mind that some of these were tweeted before the official reveal.
In reply to a fan asking for skimpy outfits:
“Character creation should remain. But I’m not sure about your request for skimpy and fetish outfits…”
On Nightmare and Siegfried in Soulcalibur V:
“They get stronger each time so I gotta be careful.”
On the game’s title:
“Actually, I asked the company if we can call the game ‘Soul Edge 2’ but they said ‘no’.”
One fan also asked if there was a chance for dynamic stages and stage interaction in Soulcalibur V, to which Odashima simply replied: “Maybe.”
What bugged me most about 4's character creator was they made the dipshit move of applying stats to the equipment. So, if you wanted to look good, odds are you were statistically weaker. Meanwhile, the better statted players basically had the Optical Hat effect goin' on, and dear god it could get hideous at times.
I normally used Cassandra/Sophitia in 1 and 2, but loved using Tira in 4 (Never played 3), hope she appears again
