    Cruise Trips

So, My and the woman want to go on a cruise after she takes her Boards exam and starts doing Hospital rotations. Our schedules kinda conflict so it's kind of a pain in the ass.

The time we are able are from June 15- July 6, We want at minimum a 3 day cruise and at max a 7 day. If it's less than 4 days we just want to be able to drive to the ship, ie. NY or NJ if it's more than 4 then we can fly to where ever provided the plane tickets are cheap ie MIA.

She also made a note of No canada, she's been there before on a cruise and was probably bored.

Max we're looking to spend is under 800 pp, although thats abit rough on me since you know, lol nojorb, But i'm getting unemployment atm.

Anyone has any good sites on some deals?

So far i'm finding 800+ pp

Just make sure to smuggle as much alcohol as you can onto the cruise. Weltall and I went on a cruise a year ago and I got murdered on the bill because of all the drinks I bought.

I did a cruise with friends to Bermuda/Nassau last summer that was 9 days for like ~$800 pp for me and the chick I was shacking up with (we got our room last minute after the rest of the group when they were trying to fill up the boat so ours were 200-300 cheaper, so try something like that). It was on Royal Caribbean from Bayonne, NJ, I know they alternate doing 5day versions of this route and 9day, so I would imagine you can get on the 5day version for cheaper, and in all honesty the 9 day was extremely boring, by day 7 I was tired of most shit on the boat. I ended up spending almost as much on other shit (alcohol with every meal, cuban cigars I snuck back into the US in Nassau, jet ski tour on their private island, etc.) so definitely find a 3-5 day route.

And idk about other lines but we went through airport levels of security to get on board, only way I saw to get ANY contraband aboard (outside of some weed on your person) was wheelchair/stroller since they bypassed security. Otherwise, get in good with your waiter/asst-waiters and theyll hook you up w/ weed and shit if thats your thing.

Well my first tip is you should always make sure you use bathrooms that are secluded or where few people go to.

Went on an eastern Caribbean cruise with Royal Caribbean a couple of summers ago and absolutely loved it. Our tickets were only about $400 a person, though we went at the end of August which is considered hurricane season. The weather was perfect (80's-90's) nonethless. You can also purchase a wine/beverage package--not sure on the pricing atm. I would recommend the Oasis of the Seas or Freedom of the Seas ship if you want more to do on board than just sun bathing on deck (like ice-skating, zip-line, water/surf park, etc.). Our cruise stopped in the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. There are more stops available on the southern Caribbean cruise, I believe.

I really would like to stop at St. Thomas, just so my I could see my mom in St.Croix, where I grew up. but 400 a pop sounds fucking amazing, I wish I could do Aug though those times are perfect weather, How much would those packages be(Oasis of the Seas/Freedom of the Seas)?

Spend your money just staying at one or two nice places instead. Everyone regrets cruises. Weeks on end of the same stinky people, bad food, etc.

Uh we booked about 3 weeks ahead of the departure date, but yeah I guess just search their website, I'm sure you'll find shit. Again, unless you know of a surefire method to get the booze on board, they prob will confiscate it and you'll be fucked. And I got bored on the boat, at about the ~1 week point, if it was <7days I'd have been fine. The reason I was bored was b/c outside of the evenings when we got shitfaced as a group/fooled around with my roommate, etc, there was little to do in the day time. I mean it could've been my group cause during the day they either napped, hung around the casino (if they had a penis), or had girl time if they were gay/didn't. I decided to stop playing blackjack while I was ahead and so I was left with working out, reading (I read more then the rest of the group combined..) and beating old people at trivia while I pounded back old-fashioneds and whiskey sours.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

we did carnival for our honeymoon and I just ordered directly through the website (think it was like 700 each). I had a blast, and can't wait to do it again sometime.

Also I don't think there's any real need to "smuggle drinks" onboard. When we went they had a duty free shop inside that sold tons of alcohol. All of them were either cheaper or same price as on land because of no tax. So the stuff you'd be smuggling would probably be there. It's the drinks at the bar that can kill you. Just buy bottles from the shop and fill up your cups before you leave your room.

Also be smart about buying those drink tickets.

Yeah no shit the liquor at the duty free shop is cheaper, it's also offlimits until you dock at your port of origin. WHICH IS WHY THEY GOUGE YOU ON BOOZE AT THE BARS. It's fucking basic economics, they keep the boat dry so they can have a monopoly on booze and the higher prices that go along with it.

In all seriousness though, if you don't care what you drink, they have a daily cocktail thats pretty cheap, and lots of simple cocktails will get you drunk fast enough.

    WAT

it was the opposite for us...

Had to wait until we were out at sea, then it was open so they didn't have to charge tax...
