What is this months free PSN plus game, and would there be any reason to wait until later to activate it?
pretty sure there's an expiration date on the free psn+/games offers. think by the end of the month.
As for what's available right now, I'm not 100% sure, but links here might give you a clueQ: How long do I have to get into the PlayStation Store and receive my content for Welcome Back?
A: Access to the Welcome Back content will be expiring on July 3. Once this date has passed, the Welcome Back section in the PlayStation Store will be removed.
Q: When does the 30 days of my PlayStation Plus access expire?
A: Your PlayStation Plus 30-day access will expire 30 days from the date you activated it in PlayStation Store.

If you want any of the first 3 games to play for a month, activate now and grab them ASAP. If not, wait until July 1st I guess, and grab everything you want to play and hope for cool July content.
The way I understand it. If you activate now, and grab abe's exodus, you will be able to play it until your PS+ ends (forever, if you keep paying). But you only have the time it's up to grab it. The system favors early and permanent adopters basically.
You should be able to download the other games the way I posted earlier. I was downloading PS3 Game1, Game2, PSP Game1, and PSP Game2 all to my ps3 simultaneously (well the other 3 were pending after each completed, but they were all queued. Even if you don't have a PSP, download the games you want for the NGP and save them to your ps3. Once NGP comes out you can transfer them to your NGP and play them.
The main benefit I see for the free month is picking up some cheap games (25-75% off) which remain after Playstation+ ends. The way I understand it. If you activate now, and grab abe's exodus, you will be able to play it until your PS+ ends (forever, if you keep paying). But you only have the time it's up to grab it. dont forget u can get some games from EU PSN if u have an account, i was able to get dead nation/lbp from the NA psn and Infamous/Ratchet clank:Quest for booty on EU PSN. No psp offer from EU PSN though
EU's secondary bonus was current PS+ members get a 70 day extension.
Which seems like a cop-out since we get two month extension on PS+ regardless. I'd take 2 PSP games over 10 more days of PS+.
I wonder if I can do the Welcome Back thing from my PSP as I have its own account for it, could get digital copies of all 4.
so are you still able to get free games just wondering ?
yes, they're giving a whole month for people to get them
Uhg, getting the red blinky light on my ps3 this morning. Oh the timing ; ;
Awesome, had one EU and one US account so got 4 games total.
I'd like to point out that if you have multiple accounts on your PS3 you can get all the games. I just managed to do it with my extra account that I made years ago for some reason that I don't remember. I'm now 4/5 Ps3 games and 4/4 PSP games.
damn wish i made a foreign account earlier. i had a decent time with the welcome back thing, dead nation is pretty great, and i never finished infamous so now i can
Sorry to bother you guys but I got my PS3 during the hacking attacks was going on and I couldn't make an account. When PSN came back up I finally made my account and I'm wondering if I can download the welcome back games?
They have a set date, so if you got it after april, probably not.
Nope
Fuck, I didn't notice I started playing Infamous while logged on the secondary account and had a long session and now the save and trophies are connected to it :< Don't feel like restarting atm >.<

TOKYO—Nintendo Co. said Sunday that a server for its U.S. unit's website had been hacked into but that no company or customer information was compromised, marking the first time the Japanese gaming giant has been targeted in widespread global hacking attacks.
The incident at Nintendo is extremely minor compared with the hacker attacks on rival Sony Corp.'s PlayStation Network and other online services since April that have led to a personal data breach involving more than 100 million user accounts. The Nintendo breach involved no sensitive information and hasn't caused any damage to its operations or inconveniences for its customers, the company said.
Still, the incident at another global gaming giant raises a question over whether any online services can be fully protected from potential hacking attempts.
A hacker group called Lulzsec, which had earlier claimed that it had broken into some of Sony's websites and stolen customer data, posted on the Internet some data it claims is a "server configuration file," or data for programming purposes, from a Nintendo server.
Nintendo spokesman Ken Toyoda acknowledged that there has been an unauthorized access to the company's U.S. server, but stressed that the accessed information didn't include any information on the company, or any personal data for its customers.
"We are always working to make sure our systems are secure," he said.
After Lulzsec posted the data online, the group said on its Twitter account that it was not targeting Nintendo. "We sincerely hope Nintendo plugs the gap," it said.
