My area got hit pretty bad last night. At one point there were funnel clouds spotted 3 miles east and 5 miles west of my house at the same time. Luckily when the worst of it was over me the circulation had risen higher, so it looked amazing but didn't do too much damage. A few trees and telephone poles were knocked down close by and tons of leaves/branches scattered everywhere, but not bad considering how strong the storm was.

We've had storms for about the past 3 or 4 days. Have had about 5 tornados, 2 touchdowns, and an entire city is close to going completely under water. More storms tonight.

CNN was saying the tornados were classified F4 and F5 with winds from 175-200+ MPH. i hope those of you living in the path of the storm stay save, this shit isn't going away.. its gonna keep going east so be careful.

edit: CNN just said 113 confirmed tornados today, and 31 have died in alabama

More like "Southeastern US Storms" :-/.. I live in Northwest Arkansas and we've gotten 19" of rain in 2 days and baseball/grapefruit size hail. A town SE of my county (Vilonia, AR) where my business put up a gas station was completely destroyed by an F5 tornado as well.

yeah.. it was quite honestly the first time i've ever been scared just watching a storm. the power went out mid-MVC3 match in my dorm and we went outside to go look and it was a freaking light show outside. i go back into my room to grab my iphone to turn the camera light on and it starts pouring like it had been raining for hours.

I'm in MN in an area that is basically immune to major tornado-type weather based on geography. Just imagining the tornado rates in those states is scary. No joke, I wish them the best.

You know it's bad when you get a telephone rep from Mississippi (and a cool one at that) who is spouting her worries and fears about the tornadic activity to you while you're trying to get blue prints for a taco joint. >_> So yes, it should be considered scary. I don't think most of the people that are being hit by tornadoes are use to it like some people are.
