Tornado Watch in my area. Damn usually these things stay in Tennesse and not hit us in Atlanta area...
I use a program called GRLevel3 and I'm watching most of the cluster of shit head there now.
What the weather guy on CNN pretty much said makes sense in why there are so many tornados right now... Theres a jet stream of warm air down the middle of the country kinda swooping from mississippi to new york and cold air from the north and south are hitting the jet stream and creating super cells that are constant spinning storms, so anything in the way of the storm is pretty much gonna either be really close to one of the 7 super cells that were shown or are gonna hit by major rain.
heres a link to the radar/story from CNN, and im pretty sure this storm that hit the jet stream was over colorado the other night and was moving so fast i thought we were gonna get a tornado warning, but now its owning the entire southeast. there was hail in that storm so it was cold as fuck for sure
Yeah, been tracking the damage done to Tuscaloosa and Birmingham mainly, and it's progressing further to the northeast. Shit's been *awful*. If you saw the post earlier in the topic where I linked the video of the tornado going right behind the University of Alabama's stadium.. quite scary.
Just wow, you can hear the fucker about to have a near breakdown. It looks like the National Guard arrives right after it cuts through all the buildings?
edit: @ 5:16 the helicopter I meant.
Christ.. what a video.
Shit, that was pretty intense.
That video is absolutely insane. I don't know if the guy just had balls of steel or he just figured he's fucked whether he tries to move or not.. but wow, as said cake-lover above said.. what a video.
asdffgasgh
Fucking insane.
The tornado itself I don't fear. It's when it drills into the fuckin' ground like an auger, not even basements are safe.
Edit: Also another one by the University Campus.
Jesus christ.
Watchin those videos gets the blood flowin, whew. My heart goes out to the people there.
My mom's place got her roof ripped off. Step dad's business flooded.
My yard is flooded, too. Had a tornado come through the neighborhood a little bit north of here; lot of power outages, somehow we're still up and running.
We had some storms like this last year, same week. Not this bad, though.
Empire AL, as someone commented. Even the hills can't stop that shit.
Bridgeport AL,
Birmingham AL,
Jeez. Are people seriously laughing at the double tornado thing? Fucking morons.
Not AL. In GA from last night but just wow. I've only seen hail this blanketed when I was a kid.
Well when death looks you in the face.
Sometimes all you can do is laugh.
Nacogdoches has had it easy sofar. Iv heard of a few tornadoes touching down around here in other counties but nothing in town. Its crazy around this time of year. Always makes my monthly weather alert tests seem kinda surreal knowing the fact i may save hundreds of lives by pressing one button for weather sirens. (i work security for plywood mill) Seeing these videos gives a cold chill down the spine
