Update, house belonging to my cousin had the roof torn off and thrown into his lake but his parent's house right next door is leveled to the ground. Only three fatalities so far in town after the trailer they were all in got picked up and thrown into the woods.

Obama paid us a visit today..joy. =\ The rescue teams and recovery units are still unable to reach a large portion of the city of Tuscaloosa due to downed power lines, trees, and debris. On the bright side, the rest of the south is coming together to help by donating food, water, non-perishables, etc. to north Alabama. It's really heart-warming to see that so many people care.

was some scary shit. I've since moved from downtown T-town (which at this time I'm so thankful because pretty sure the Apt I lived in is gone) still live in the county but more NE of the city and that sucker came knocking this way. Scared me enough to hunker my ass down in the bathroom, and I never pay much attn to those warnings. Get kinda numb to em living in tornado alley, but seeing that vid live on the news and hearing it's path coming for my front door. brix shat etc I hope Insane is OK. Hopefully he just doesn't have power/net even cell reception is spotty around here. even this far removed we have massive power outages, (and expect it to be out for awhile) Thankfully we kept power through most of it, and I only got internet back late last night. Thankfully its path slightly veered from what they predicted. Sucks for Pleasant Grove though. Any of the other BamaBGers know what I mean it just got erased. O_O Last I heard it was 220 confirmed dead in Bama and I say shockingly "only" 36 of those from Tuscaloosa. Sad, sad stuff down here.

If you can get a real name and address on insanecyclone I will do my best to ask around that area. Led a chainsaw team into the peterson area near holt it was awful luckily we weren't the first in. I'm hoping it's just the typical 'didn't have internet or power, guys, so I couldn't check in'.. and him get pissed at me for bringing so much attention to the situation as I did, but I don't care. Tornadoes fucking suck.

Was reminded of this from those pictures but one of the freakiest things post-natural disaster like this is when you look out and see how far you can suddenly see when all the trees have fallen. Places look and feel absolutely barren, really weird way to see the extent of the damage conveyed.

this is how it is, I can stand in one spot and find a landmark that I never thought i would see from that spot.
