Uh... duh? Doesn't change the fact that friends are worried about him.

Yeah, honestly I almost joked about it in the very first response, glad I didn't now, but I would tend to lean towards assuming he's probably just not able to get online, and/or if he is that it's not a priority to update people on a forum where apparently nobody even knows his name. Hopefully he's just fine and we'll hear from him when things are in a bit better situation down there.
Anyway, a few interesting things:
Thursday was already the deadliest tornado day ever, and the numbers will probably still go up a bit more.
This was apparently the second biggest outbreak sequence ever, over 2 days. The biggest was over a period of like 11 days.
These people are insane:
And, of course, since they make a TV show about it, they definitely have a lot more even crazier footage that we won't likely see until the next season this fall.
This shit's all nuts to me, living in Kansas I've seen a lot of tornadoes and their damage over the years (I came back from vacation one summer and our barn was facing a different direction...), but this is just... wow.
Like, I remember the Andover tornado, and how insane the damage was, just shit you never thought you'd see, places with tons of big nice houses that just looked like the mess of an f5 hitting a trailer park.
And that was one tornado... and it hit one major suburb... This outbreak sequence had possibly a dozen or more that same size all over the damn place.
Yeah.. that's insane, but the most insane video so far is that one on the page back with the two guys, and then the woman at the end yelling about her dog. That video will stay with me for a while.
Yeah, it's much more personal in that video on the previous page.
The stormchasers guys will have some amazing shit on this though I'm sure, they have a tank like thingy that's designed to drive to a spot in the path and hunker down to sit directly in the tornadoes, who knows what kind of footage they'll be showing on the show.
Ah yeah, I think I saw them on that show with Walrus man and uh.. what was it. Gah, mythbusters I think? Where they showed just how strong their vehicles were.
I think this is the current one they're still using:
This is the old one, and has brief footage of the first one. They actually had this one and the red one running at the same time for a while, but I think the TIV is done now.
toll up to 250 nowI want to know the total number of tornadoes that touched down from this storm. It was insane these things were state wide not all were as huge as the t-town one, but that thing touched down and stayed down for many, many miles plowed through about 3 counties here is a picture gallery of some of the damage ppl have sent in from all over http://photos.al.com/1811/gallery/yo...011/index.html
Pleasant Grove and Cordova were quite literally wiped off the map ; ;
Yeah, it's amazing how bad things are right now in Northern Alabama. If I remember right, I think someone mentioned around 140 total tornadoes touched down all together in Alabama on the 27th alone.
if he has no power there's a good chance his phone is dead.
cell phone? you can get some juice out of it.
Finally got confirmation my family made it out of Guntersville ok. They lost power, cell towers all down, water out...etc. There is a curfew being imposed due to looting in some areas now. One of my friends just took his immediate family to gulf shores for a week vacation until it's settled down. I hope Insane is ok and just not able to get online.
Good to hear, noble. I was going to bring it up with you in the NFL thread and make sure everything was okay for you. May be an Alabama fan, but you're from the state, and that's all that matters here. Good to hear everything's okay on your end.
Yeah, feels like a weird thing to say but congratulations on everyone getting out ok.

Bad news, the found a tuscaloosa milos employee in birmingham identified him by his uniform and name badge. Good news 3 people were found under rubble in Alberta city alive.
So CNN just had a guy on and he said he was in Holt.. and my god, I didn't see *anything* standing during the whole clip. D:
holy shit
Brother-in-law and his family live in Huntsville. They just got their power back in the last hour or so.
If insane lived closer to where all this went down, it still may be a while.
someone mentioned the milos employee this is all that is left of that milos
snagged from a fb friend
Some positive news the toll hasn't risen in 2 days still stands at 250, but still a decent chunk still missing in t-town. But more /farnsworth good news everyone. the ppl w/o power number has greatly decreased from 412k w/o to just under 24k
and this is for you Aki, as dirty as I'll feel posting something with AU on it this sums up everything pretty well :D
