I don't think he did, but Stewart's Daily Show and Craig Kilborn's Daily Show were drastically different.

No, John Stewart took over after Comedy Central wanted somebody new and different when Craig Kilborn left. (in response to Tyrath)
Trevor Noah to replace Jon. Great comedian, look him up if you don't know him.
I'm okay with this. He's had some really decent comedy. Youtube is you're friend for this guy today as his stuff is popping up left and right.
I've thought he's been really good on TDS and watching his stand up today, I've liked him a lot. But, I'm a little surprised that they're going with him. I know Jessica Williams said she felt she hasn't done enough with TDS to take over when she was asked, and I think Jordan Klepper made a similar comment. Noah has been on maybe five segments, so he has one of the shorter tenures on the show.
I think they took a look at his stand-up and his person (he also has a documentary currently on Netflix) to make their decision. He brings a great international presence, as in he is much more popular outside of the U.S., and his ability to understand current events from an almost unbiased perspective.
God I hate Facebook. Someone complained / trolled about Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert being replaced by black people. They also think comedy central is turning into BET.
BLACK PEOPLE ARE TAKING EVERYTHING FROM WHITE PEOPLE! FROM PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, NICK FURY, ANNIE , KARATE KID, SPIDERMAN AND HUMAN TORCH!
He might be funny, but I don't think I want him anymore.

Don't agree with that viewpoint, but I still find him funny.
Also some of this has people up in arms lol

Buzzfeed tends to post those "EVERYONE is freaking out about (insert topic)" articles when it's usually a handful of people on Twitter. I don't put much stock in them.
As an athiest, his comments aren't offensive, or funny really.
He was fine on his daily show segments, but I can't think of one where he didn't need to play off Stewart. All their other actors did things by themselves.
An opinion is nothing more than an opinion. If he stands by his opinions then I can stand to see him host the show and flame him IF he fails but not before.
I'm sure if I dig back 4 years into any comedian's twitter, I'll find some way to be offended.
None of that is offensive, just indicative of a dumb viewpoint. That's kinda not relevant when talking about how funny someone is while reading off a script they probably had very little to do with, but I don't see myself supporting someone with that viewpoint anyways.
Gotta suck for everyone that's been working on the show or did work on the show for the last 15 years, to have some Rando just come in and take the head chair.
I like him as a comedian, but his chemistry on the show has been super dull so far.
Also, the nightly show is -terrible- and they need to find something else to replace it to fill the gap left by the Colbert report (and incoming gap from daily show).
I'd keep watching TDS if Jason took over, but that's it really.
