Wait for Diablo 3.
Wait for Diablo 3.
People are laughing because FFXIV was so bad, but Rift is just as god-awful after 30 days of playing lol.
K-Tera or wait for D3 is the answer.
Tera is down the line, and it is CERTAINLY good. If you enjoy MMOs at all, you should love Tera when it launches.
Nothing can ever be as bad as FFXIV. You literally have to be brain dead to think otherwise.
edit: because you don't think
edit: that's what i meant with my second sentence
edit: that you don't think because you are brain dead
edit: because thinking that rift is anywhere near as bad as ffxiv is an impossible thought
edit; a thought only thought of by people who are brain dead
edit: because that's impossible too
If one of the two had to be picked I'd vote rift. But honestly, as people have said, wait for something else. FF14 is only appeasing to the eyes, it literally is the worst game ever created as far as game play. Rift is eh but nothing to jump around about.
I'd suggest playing LoL, HoN, SC2, games like this that aren't MMOs but are still competitive and online until something new and better comes out (prob tera)
Sorry, but I'm in the rift sucks boat. At least after the initial purchase XIV will be F2P for the foreseeable future. WoW is just... well, WoW. It's been around too long to be a ton of fun anymore. Everything is just lackluster, and with how they've made armor now, it's even more lackluster.
lol. Game sucks ass. It does everythign WoW does but worse. And it's sad that a 7 year old game is more polished then a brand new current-gen mmo (oh wait.. Rift isn't technically new because all they did was take the WAR engine and make a game out of that.. And the WAR engine looked like shit to begin w/... but at least their character models didn't look like completely garbage)
You know XIV is the worst [wanna-be] mmo in existence when 6 months after release the game is going for 7$ on amazon.. and all stores still have CE's w/they can't get rid of for even 30$
yeah.. I should have been more specific. You don't need to grind to level 50 because quests are fluid. but at endgame your gonna do twice as much grinding as in WoW and rep grinds are crazy insane.
One thing i LOATHED about Rifts quests was this: Quest has you visit the very back of a cave where you have to kill 30 mobs (that repop in 5 minutes) just to get to the quest mobs > you kill quest mobs and go turn in that quest > New quest send you back to that some spot in the very back of that cave to kill different mobs > do that turn in > new quests sends you BACK again to kill mobs in a different passageway thats just as deep as the very back of the cave. Once you get to 40+ your gonna have a ton of quests that are like that and it made me rage so hard
Rift is far from a perfect game, but as many people have said, it has actual content and will only get better. It also has a more oldschool playerbase, even though it's similar to WoW, which those players tend to hate. It's also an American company, which may sound harsh to some, but is important to me when it comes to communication and updates. My only gripe is that i wished it looked more eastern styled.
The games been out for 2 months and has:
*10 instances (regular versions for leveling and expert versions which unlock their 2nd half at 50)
*5-man expert Rifts
*10-man open world raid Rifts
*2 separate 20-man raids
*4 PVP instanced maps
*32 classes divided into 4 archetypes (not counting 4 pvp classes)
*11 open world zones that actually look different
*Large scale zone events
*Achievements for completionists
*Artifact hunting
*Appearance tabs (coming in a week)
*Jumping and swimming (a few underwater quests also)
FFXIV has:
*Stale world
*Horrible combat mechanics
*Little group content (compared to Rift)
Sounds like your just shooting off on what the back of the box says. The game has 32 classes divided into 4 archtypes, but at end game only like 10 total (out of all the archtypes) are viable for raiding / expert dungeons. So 32 classes means nothing if the classes aren't balanced.
XIV has more than that... not much... but more. I love when people make bullet points that are completely biased.
The game has met it's potential already. It will grow as time goes on but fundamentally it will not change.Rift is far from a perfect game, but as many people have said, it has actual content and will only get better.
And frankly, that's what makes XIV still appealing. The release makes or breaks a game, but SE doesn't seem to care.
Right now though? lol. Go rift, if you don't like it... wait for more options.
FFXIV isn't too bad. They're adding content and such finally. I won't lie though, at first release it was fuck-all terrible that I quit for a couple months. It's playable now and pretty enjoyable with friends. I haven't played Rift so I can't put an opinion there.
The Rift points are facts and in game. The XIV are my biased opinions yes. I expected the content in Rift to be in XIV at launch, as everyone should expect these days. If that were the case, then i'd be playing XIV and not thinking twice. As it stands, XIV is more shallow than Aion, which i didn't think was possible. Again, my biased opinion on a gaming forum.
is this the new ffxi vs wow?
