So is this going to be a new game, or Assassin's Creed 2 part 3?

Day 1 buy. The picture added to the OP is amazing and hope it becomes the final art cover. It really seems to emphasise how the young Ezio we've been playing since AC2 is truly now a legendary figure similar to Altair; for some reason this image stirs some emotion in me. Ezio is a great main character - only thing I hope for is that the assassination targets are fleshed out more (Cesare/Rodrigo were fleshed out very well, but the others were not leading to the "death speeches" basically being one-liners. I really enjoyed the longer sequences and the emotional ones such as when Ezio kills the younger Vieri in AC2).

You already know how its going down. I bleed the creed.
I got into Assassin's Creed pretty late but got hooked when I did. You can tell how much the developers really care about this series too because it gets better every iteration. These guys already know they have my money.
hell yea, we gotta pwn some noobs in multiplayer AoE, even though we didn't play much on brotherhood shit was still fun with a partner that knew how to play. and they are adding guilds to online, so i think if they fine tune that shit it could be even more fun the brotherhood
Fucking psyched for this game. Loved both 2 and brotherhood. More Ezio = win. More Altair is pretty cool too.
Wow, Ezio is over 50 years old in this one...We've been playing this character since he's been a teenager (well actually, an infant since we had to press a few buttons to move his limbs) and it truly shows the dedication to the story they're trying to tell with each installment....Just amazing.
The game already sounds like a masterpiece from what I'm reading about it, and another crack to play Altaiir sounds like icing to my inner fat child's cupcake.

double edit: Well, screw it. The multiplayer is amazing too...got to 50 easily and didn't feel like a grind at all. I was a fucking savage in multiplayer.
GDI now i have to go replay 2 for the 10th time. I'll fucking enjoy every minute of it, too.
Added the info Galkaeater found on Neogaf to the OP.
I don't think Brother was as good as 2, but it wasn't near bad at all. I thought the multiplayer would be something I skipped over, but its actually really fun. I'm kind of an achievement whore and got put off at how hard some of the online ones are. I need a good partner to play with.
And as cool as Ezio is, I still Altair is more badass. I just think its because the developers got a feel for what they were doing and could make each game better. AC1, while repetitive, was a cool experience and I thought the plot was pretty good. The jump 2 made was huge, but I felt the story lacked a bit since it was basically secret assassin's secretly training Ezio to be one. The environments in 2 were so much bigger though, and just moving around was a lot better. Though as said, Brother was basically just AC2+. Some gameplay improvements, but the story was kind of weak again. I hope they have a Facebook game to go along with the new one; it had some interesting backstory, but I missed out on it while playing 2 and got bored since all my recruits were up to assassins already.
Fun Fact: All female assassin cheat leaves all assassins as female when deactivated.

I never played 1, 2 was fucking awesome and I just picked up Brotherhood(haven't had a chance to play it yet), definitely know I'm getting this even before I play Brotherhood. I can't wait till PSN is up to play multi-player.
Brotherhood was better than 2 in the sense it had more to do. But, like Uzor said, the series gets better with each new game because Ubisoft adds more to keep you interested and playing longer. Which is how you should develop a series.
Not like Dynasty Warriors (as much as I love the game) it's the same thing every time they release a new one, with only minor additions and changes. None of which really extend gameplay by much.
Also on a side note, I recommend checking out the Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood soundtrack if you ever get bored. You don't always notice it when you're playing because it's so atmospheric but a lot of it is really amazing.
