    Thanks! I was just trying to decide when/where to buy this, that clinched it. Can't beat almost 50% off a new release.

    Couple of reviews are out. 8 from Gamespot, 8.5 from ign.

    Gamespot review says that the environments and overall visuals are stunning but the main story is quite disappointing. Not a big fan of Gamespot, but Vanord is definitely one of the better editors out there.

    Really? Both IGN and GT say that the storyline is one of the better ones in the series.

    They do? That's good news I guess. Here is the portion from Gamespot.

    But the main plot, involving political unrest among the sultan and his family members, is merely serviceable, lacking the personal touch that made Assassin's Creed II's narrative so enthralling.

    Nevertheless, Revelations is as absorbing as its predecessors, because it's so much fun to move through Constantinople and other key areas. This is due in part to the world's sheer beauty. Deep golds and reds make a stroll through the grand bazaar a feast for the eyes, and famous landmarks like Hagia Sophia cut striking silhouettes against the night sky. Row a boat across a strait, and you marvel at the authentic wake that ripples behind. A mauve haze softens the horizon as day passes into night, and makes you keenly feel the passage of time--a thematically relevant effect, considering how conscious the older Ezio is of his mortality. Of course, previous Assassin's Creed games looked stunning too, but Revelations is no less impressive for it. Not that every detail is perfect: citizens still occasionally pop into existence before your very eyes, and you might spot a guard clipped halfway through a rooftop. But such quibbles hardly matter in a game this visually spectacular.

    Guy also listed "Disappointing main story" to the "the bad" list, but its a relief to see positives about it as well.

    Can't wait for it!

    Nevermind, went and exchanged it for the PS3 version with Brutus armor! I knew that Exo would have bitched at me.

    Confirmed that 360 and PS3 versions at Wal-Mart are $39.99, its definitely a snafu somewhere because some are labeled $39.99 and some are labeled $59.99, Cheapassgamers.com has a big to-do about it. Anyways I wasn't planning on getting it immediately because I just bought Skyrim yesterday, but $40 for day 1 sure beats fighting some grandmas on Black Friday.

    The non-brutus games are showing up for 59.99...the one with the DLC is 39.99. Day one purchase!

    Game is great so far imo. The only downside I've noticed this far is that they removed WANTED posters making it harder to remove notoriety. That's not bad in and by itself; but notoriety activates "Den Defense" where you need to protect bases (kind of like Tower Defense). If you lose; you need to recapture the fort - and capturing a fort makes you wanted, which again allows Den Defense to activate. So in some ways the game feels more like a constant struggle to capture forts.

    It wouldn't be so much of a problem if they had posters; but the only way to reduce notoriety to 0 is to find 2 "officials" and assassinate them.

    Den Defense by itself is a good idea, I just think it's badly implemented. Especially since renovating buildings also increase notoriety by 25%.

    You can also remove notriety by paying off those street preachers...whatever they are called lol

    Yes, I know, but only down to 25%. After that you still need to find an official; so if you don't find an official for the last 25% you're fucked <.<;

    At least I haven't been able to pay one off for the last 25%... It's why you still need to find at least one official. The map markings for preachers also disappear after 50%, so you're stuck running around looking for them. They only appear on the map if they're in visual range.
