Anyways... I have mixed feelings on the issue.

I'm a little disappointed at the extent of the celebration for someone's death, even if it is a really bad dude. I'm more frustrated though at all the talk of bringing peace. That's just straight up bullshit, you don't create peace by killing those that would break it.

I know a ton of people would have been unhappy about it, but I'd much rather have seen him captured and locked in solitary for the rest of his life. No news, no interaction besides getting food and cleanliness.


Obviously I'm against the death penalty, and this has nothing to do with a fair trial or whatever, the dude's guilty as can be, just... it's disappointing that so many people are so happy to see people killed in cold blood, no matter who or why.

Given the boondoggle handling KSM, you really wanted to see the mess that'd be "Where in the world do we try Osama Bin Laden?"

On top of that'd you have terrorists demanding Bin Laden be set free, taking hostages and what not. You know how many more people would die when we ignore those demands?

I think everyone's already waiting for the blowback that'll come with the death of Bin Laden but lives are saved with him being dead. We need not waste millions of tax dollars on a guy we know is responsible for the deaths of thousands and Bin Laden would have probably killed himself if captured anyway.

People were only happy about this because we got our revenge and the wars seem to have had purpose finally. In reality the fight continues and peace still seems elusive as ever.

Venezuela and its government went full retard a long time ago, honestly there is a reason to celebrate this fucker being dead. If you think different then that is your opinion and I cant sway that, but I personally had a friend and a family member die on 9/11, so I am glad the man accountable for the attack is now dead.

It may not be more then a symbolic victory, but it is a victory that some of us can take a sort of solemn pleasure in.

I'm still skeptical to any info the gov't feeds us. No telling what/how much of anything they tell us has been fabricated. For all I know, Osama could have possibly never existed or he could be Obama bin laden in disguise. But if all this stuff is true, won't bring anyone back, and it won't end any warfare. My Wife and I were talking about Osama being killed. She is anti death penalty, and im pro death. She complained about him not being captured, and i told her Obama ordered him dead. We both agreed that a trial would have been nice, but impossible. It would have been a fucking clusterfuck circus and a security issue. She also didnt like the excessive amount of celebrating, to which i started doing the running man. People are entitled to thier opinions and should be allowed to express how they feel about osama being killed. Some people dance, some look down on celebrating, some shoot pistolas into the air. I'm not so much celebrating the death of bin Laden as I am the closure it will bring countless amounts of people. It'd be no different if some terrorist task force came in and took down Bush if we were a 'terrorist' state. They would feel the same way about us.

It's not inhuman to feel good about something bad, even if only for a little while. What's excessive is the 'dancing in the streets' kind of behavior over this. We lament our own losses and rage when assholes in Muslim-land are dancing after 9/11 but when the shoe is on the other foot and they do the same we're questioning our judgment.

The sheer hypocrisy of people quoting Martin Luther King's enemy quote when the shoe was on the other foot years ago is just rage-inducing in and of itself.
