Radar absorbent material is one of the military's most closely guarded technologies, if there's a piece of it lying around I believe it's a legitimate concern that it would... disappear should a government not our own take control of it. In regards to the helicopter, didn't they blow it up to make sure nothing was usable/salvagable? Thought I read that in one of the articles.

I'm more curious how such an advanced stealth aircraft crashed/taken down, and without anyone on board suffering injuries.

Not that I'm entertaining conspiracy theories at all, but that's the one part of this whole thing I don't quite understand. Or maybe I'm just missing something/information.

Was apparently hovering low and lost lift capability (due to compound walls), so the fall was either slow or very short distance.

This is pretty scary however, as the material structure of our stealth technology and the overall design of those helicopters is pretty damn important information that we don't want to leave around (and it's now basically in Pakistan's/China's hands).

Yeah, the choppers were very low to the ground. The original plan was to slide down the rope into the compound on both sides so it would of been a relatively short drop.

Any one can use radar absorbent material. I'm sure it's more the electronics inside the chopper that are more of a worry/risk then the tail of a stealth helicopter.

There are pictures of our stealth bombers all over the web, it doesn't mean they can't copy it that easily. I'm sure there's more to it then just using the material and copying the shape we used.

Makes sense! Don't quite know much about helicopter flight.

Helicopter flight mostly relies on a pretty consistent flow of air... nearby large buildings/architecture can fuck with that and cause weird flows of air when very low to the ground. Also, they can't stay still for very long since the blades pushing down on the air (creating upward lift) will eventually create a flow of air being pushed downwards, circling around and back up, and down through the blades again, resulting in less and less lift as the air begins to cycle faster through it. I imagine it was a combination of these issues that caused the accident. However, you would think that the pilots would have enough training to be wary of this and avoid such an incident with such important technology and expensive equipment...
