Truman had no effect or say on the use of the atomic bombs in WW2. Lincoln had no effect or say on the proceedings before and during the civil war. Bush had no effect or say on the 'war on terror.'

The president absolutely has a major and significant role of any military proceedings by our country. Will the president be out on the battlefield? No. Will the president be running missions? No. But will he be able to influence (and on most levels, control) how and where most of our resources and efforts are directed? Absolutely.

Especially in this case, where the previous administration had blatantly admitted to giving up on the search for Osama and refused to follow any leads into Pakistan.

What's with the obsession to discredit Obama for anything he does? Tea partiers really infecting this many people still?
