Ok, so my main problem now is that I re-installed and updated and whatnot a few weeks ago. I was enjoying all the changes, but my entire linkshell was dead. I had nobody to play with or even talk to. I've gotten most of the DoW and DoM classes to at least 20 to mix/match skills. I've finally gotten into an active social/event LS but... I'm just completely bored with the game now. And all of their characters are 30+ so I would have to play some hefty catch up. Guildleves don't interest me at all anymore, and I'm utterly bored with behest. I've started tinkering with crafts and gathering until after the combat changes. however, I'm honestly just thinking of leaving to play Rift with a friend and maybe check back in on FFXIV in 6 months or so. I just don't really know how to have fun with FFXIV right now.

players are sort of forced to make Uldah their base of operations atm if they want to be around a lot of other players. And because dead LSs are fairly common, the best way to stay social is to just collect a bunch of LSs and befriend new players constantly. I found several active shells by asking in shout at camps for people to help me with leves. I'd get one or two people to help and at the end of the session I'd have a new LS invite. It has made gameplay for me a lot more fun.
