Dexter Season 6 (now with more bitching)

I'm fairly sure he smothered him in his apartment complex. He was sitting in a recliner when he got smothered.

Did no one actually hear the end of the episode. "Nothing has order anymore." These last few episodes/seasons have basically been Dexter breaking down mentally. He's no longer able to give all his attention to his Dark Passenger now that he has a family/Harrison. Essentially, he's spiraling out of control. No one has been picking up on the themes and underlying tones recently? I guess people need things force fed to them now to figure everything out.

Meh, I'm not really buying this, at least no more than any of the other past couple of seasons where he has had trouble finding balance.

It seems more to me that it's just normal daddy issues. He wants to be the perfect dad, wants what is best for his son, doesn't want his son to be like him, etc. He seems to be giving plenty of attention to his dark passenger, he's certainly had no shortage of people to feed the urge.

This is what I was trying to point out. Definitely didn't mean that Kenney got Dex's number by looking at his paperwork. However, we do know that Kenney was the one to call Dexter. Unexplained as to how got the # but either way, Dexter was using more than one phone. While a minor detail, it still does show some caution. Just not nearly as much as he exhibited when stalking/learning more about his prey in earlier seasons.

It was in his own chair. Would make 0 sense to kill him in the other guys. And I'm pretty sure he could get in and out of the community w/o issue considering everyone there was probably asleep 7 hours before hand.

Every season has been about Dexter developing as a person. He's coming to understand he will never have the normal family he wanted (Trinity season), He will never be with anyone who accepts him for what he is (Lumin) and this last episode was how he learned that he will always have this weight with him and it will affect his son.

One thing I don't get is how he made it look like a heart attack when Kenney's face was covered in blood from the crash itself and on top of that Dexter sliced his cheek open as usual.

I agree with all that, I just don't think he's breaking down mentally because of it (as if to say he isn't already a mental case), or at least not yet. I think, as you said, he understands all of this, except for the fact that it's going to affect his son. I think most of his issues at the moment just revolve around raising his child normally, which causes some severe daddy issues. Daddies who aren't psychopaths have enough stress wondering if they are doing the right thing, imagine how he feels.

Regarding the old guy dying: Old people are always banged up. Weak skin, lots of falls, etc. Someone doing a postmortem exam would probably dismiss it, then again, a scalpel cut would likely be deep and clean. Most plot holes can be filled if someone reaches enough. I just honestly don't think Showtime really has the time to be so meticulous with so little time and so much storyline.
