i forgot the trope name, but basically don't show a pen sitting on a fireplace in your show if that pen has no significance. something about red herring foreshadowing

I agree about that; would have been enough to show her in one episode taking care of Harris, and then it would be assumed she was the sitter whenever Dexter isn't there.

I think it had more to do with the way she reprimanded him for always being away and needing her to take care of Harrison and not being there for his son more than anything else.

I thought it had to do with throwing a red herring into the show.. I mean, every new character they introduce that spends more than 2 minutes on screen either becomes a killer, gets killed, or finds out Dex is a killer.. Or, and stop me if it's too crazy, they had plans for her to be more and she just didn't work out right or they changed their minds..

I could totally see this happening if someone (Deb, Batista, dexterwannabe) finds out he is a murderer, and he's thinking about it or something.

He starts hallucinating again, Doakes comes back, and talks shit, telling him he told him so. I hope this happens, I would much rather see that, than Harry.
