Skirkle, I am twice as attractive, smart, and charming as you are and girls never tell me that
Skirkle, I am twice as attractive, smart, and charming as you are and girls never tell me that
you wrote a pile of garbage that's disjointed from reality
I don't pick em up at parties cuz I can't dance and observe personal space. True story.
I'm not arguing with you about this.
I'm happy I live in Sweden. All that bs is generally irrelevant here. Those "rules" as you call them are not written in stone. What about them is so great that they are worth following and keeping alive?
Also missed a page >< jesus christ.
its irrelevant here as well, some just haven't got the memo yet
Take the "wait X amount of time before calling after a date" rule. What makes it a great rule is that it helps increase your attractiveness (or decrease your unattractiveness) by appearing patient, not too needy and generally socially acceptable.
A lot - if not all - of it is subjective, yeah. Some people wanna fuck on the first date. But at least around here it's just courtesy and acting normal. Being too pushy, needy or what have you is a big issue and so people give advice based on these "rules" which keep you from doing that sort of thing.
I agree, but then I've never really been part of the perceived "dating world", and prefer to hang out with someone and get to know them that way instead of arranging concrete dates, dinners, what have you. Previous comments were more of an analysis of why they are so common around here.
It's like a set of enforced gender roles, isn't it?
Girls shouldn't fuck on the first date because it makes them seem slutty and being slutty is bad in society
Guys shouldn't call a girl the next day because it makes them seem needy and too interested and guys are supposed to be independent and aloof
The rules are as stupid as the society that thinks they're acceptable/necessary is
the thing i think is stupid is that the waiting to call thing is just an act. lack of enthusiasm doesn't turn me on at all. so what, the day after our date you just forgot about us going out, and 3 days later it just dawned on you, "OH, that's right, i dated someone saturday! i should call her." no. if you had a good time, you thought about it the next day. it didn't take you 3 days to decide whether or not you'd be open to going out again, so why the fuck didn't you just say something?
also, you can still seem pushy or needy 3 days later. waiting doesn't actually solve the problem of being pushy or needy. that is a personality issue and a language issue. the way you say things is exponentially more important than when it's said. it's just going to take 3 extra days to find out that you're a pushy needy retard, and it's a waste of everyone's time. i get the intent of the advice, but straight up it's just not good advice in reality. if you don't understand appropriate responses or timing, you need to address that problem for what it is. wait X number of days/hours to call is not always the best course of action in all situations.
i hate blanket rules that are universally applied without any regard for the actual personality of the person you're seeing. you should be worrying about what's actually going down in the situation you're involved in and taking your cues from that, not necessarily some set of predetermined rules.
oh and skirkle, i'm sorry people hate your personality. there's not really a fix for that, except perhaps to pour drinks into the chick until you have to pour her into the car.
A lot of these rules can be thrown out every single time. That said the 'lolgame' is about action and reaction. On an appearance level I rate myself average as fuck. I make up with style, confidence and charisma. I don't think there has ever been a time I followed some rule. Pulling a person I am interested in has never been a problem, being interested at all is rare and a whole other ballgame.
There are overweight 'ugly' guys that get play and ladies the same way there are overweight non-model chicks that can pull A+ dicks.
Rules don't mean shit.
You guys are so controversial
i like a concrete date now and then. just hanging out is too boring, but then i'm assuming that you're talking about like "hanging out" at home or some regular spot and just kind of bullshitting. i don't want to live out the marriage reality while i'm single, like we're already too fucking bored with each other to get up and do something.
And Skirkle you are probably just meeting a bunch of losers who are being put off by your personality because they aren't on your level. Were any of these people really attractive to you in an intense way?
"I had an excellent night last night, I be in touch about the next time I'm free if you're interested, cool?"
