Rumor for now but:

I only ever played neo/exa but I loved them <_< how different / better? were the others?
I don't know. Synbios' death quote (IS THIS THE END?!) is still my favorite.
Whoa. You're the only person I've ever seen admitting to liking those games. O.o
Anyway, can't really answer that well. Nostalgia blinders and whathaveyou, but I think the Shining Force series is one of the best in all of video games.
Neo was okay for what it was (I can't really consider it a SF game, though, despite dropping words here and there like Shining Force), and Exa was fucking annoying since it literally rehashed a lot of zones from Neo. The difficulty curve could spike pretty hard in both, though, and even with some top-notch gear at later phases, shit could one-shot you.
(Sega) Shining in the Darkness: First Person dungeon crawler.
(Sega) Shining Force: TRPG
(Sega) Shining Force II: TRPG
(Saturn) Shining Force III: TRPG
(GBA) Shining Soul: Action RPG
<some others I never played on the Saturn or Dreamcast>
(PS2) Shining Force Neo: Action RPG
(PS2) Shining Force Exa: Action RPG
I love 3. I've used the handle Synbios in every game I've played in since SF3.
shining tears was the only ps2 one i found tolerable
Bleh, I wanted to join in on the old Shining Force replay, but it seems Directx9 doesn't want to install, and none of microsofts "fixes" are working ~.~ bleh
Well... dunno if this is suppose to be the new Shining they were talking about, but here's 2 new vids
That's an expansion for an already existing arcade game. Saw those on Siliconera earlier and God damn I want that shit to get a console release. Looks pretty damn fun.
http://www.neoseeker.com/news/21135-...coming-to-psp/A new game in the Shining RPG series is official, as of this week's issue of Famitsu. Dubbed Shining Ark, it's for PSP only, and developed by Chaos Rings and Wild ARMs studio Media.Vision.
Character designer Tony Taka has reprised his role again this time. Story-wise, a girl with a black wing washes ashore on a far off island at the village of Arcadia. Later on she meets up with the leader of a vigilante group (Freed), an elf/baker (Shannon), and a fisherman (Zynga - hah).
I can hardly wait never to get this over here.
