And also I wouldn't have made a big deal out of this if they stole it legitimately but the fact that we had just saved them from a wipe just made it outrageously rude. I've had JPs steal things from me before when I was soloing, even had JPs steal my T3 VNM pop, they voked it when I popped it, and I didn't even give a shit except for being mad for like 10min while I farmed another.

But to have it stolen by people that I just helped from wiping to steal from me is just off the charts in douchbaggery. I get it, yellow is fair game. However, it is quite a dick move that they couldn't return the favour after you helped them out. I usually have no problem taking a yellow mob if people are wiping but I wouldn't do it from people I know or have been helped by.

Wiping becomes super easy under 30% where between the time it knocks you back and the time you get back to his tail causes him to gas you.

Alfard is all about positioning really, once you have him in the right spot (usually that narrow canyon thingy close to where you pop him) you can just tail tank him until dead.

We'll help pick-up groups to get shit killed if it's clear they're going to wipe, mainly to hurry things up so we can pop our own. Also, I agree on Apoc atma. Annoying watching people zombie stuff forever.

all I'm seeing is "spent my last 100k on pops" and someone complaining over taking hours to farm a KI from one mob with SEVEN people, and then also complaining over 2 cards they could have gotten in less time killing Empousa.

When I'm out hunting its kill or be killed. If a shit group wipes and it goes yellow, it's mine now. If I don't need some stuff it drops I'll usually let people have the drops they were after, but usually they're too butthurt about how they totally weren't full wiped yet cause all of their members had apoc and were totally going to kite it around for 20 minutes while they recover despite everyone being weakened. If I died and someone took my mob I wouldn't complain cause I expect the same treatment especially from random people.

I would normally agree, but I'm a casual player that just returned from a 3 year break and all my old LS mates/friends quit so this was a pickup group, which was hard to make because everyone wanted/needed everything, so we had to do 7 NQs and 7 Alfards which took a while because we had to farm TEs and have people shuffle jobs around.When THEY wiped they weren't kiting or making attempts to damage it, they were just dying like suckers, just needed some Benny Hill music to complete their antics. They didn't even let us kite, it was at 12% and we had a Ukon WAR and a RDM about to chainspell nuke it with movement speed gear and Fanatic Powder. Thunder III was taking off 1-2% per cast, it would have died assuredly. But they claimed it the moment it went Yellow once our frontline was wiped out from Nerve Gas while RDM and WHM were still alive, Ukon WAR had apoc and 100%+ TP and meditate.

I wanna chime in saying that it was a dick move, but I have personally stolen Sandworm, and my old shell stole Khim and Tiamat a few times. Really as people have stated yellow is yellow. I don't think they should have dicked you over after helping them, though. That said it's a risk you take. I have had experiences where someone was dying to a mob, I'd heal them, then later see them pass by my dead body (capable of raising) and not giving me a raise. People are selfish and inconsiderate. Such is life.

I had a situation opposite this one happen recently.

I was trioing Ogopogo and beat another LS to the pop. Things go bad @2% cause we didn't have Fanatic Powder to block Tidal Wave and the other LS had been watching the fight the whole time.

We partially wipe but it didn't depop due to the other LS struggling to claim it off me. I immediately go ballistic in /s cause I'll admit, I was mayad.

I get an invite.
I get 2 colorless souls.
I get a /t from the dude stating I helped him a long time ago with upgrading some VNMs back when I needed some seals off Chione and he didn't want my Ogopogo to go to waste.

So... I felt like an ass and a child for throwing my blocks though I legitimately thought they were gonna steal.

It goes to show for every shitty situation where someone dicks you out of your claim, there are equal cases where people will help you out.

I've been shocked sometimes at how decent people can be. I used to have a FUCK THE POLICE attitude towards the game, largely because of the culture of the shells I was in. due to the influence of my partner in crime, I'm slowly learning that being nice can pay off. the other night we were waiting at orthrus and the shell fighting it started wiping after their mnk d/ced. we joined their ally and helped them down it, all drops to them. an hour later, our own tank d/ced and they helped us kill it in return.

people can be total dicks though. one time we were fighting dragua by flux #4 and out of nowhere a full alliance and a half-dead orthrus showed up. they brewed it unsuccessfully and fully wiped, we grabbed it and killed no problem. cue ENRAGED /say log, calling us every name in the book. sucks for them, we were going to give them the drops.
