Ok bumping this thread because I have another question. Do men find it weird when a gay guy wants to hang out with them? Even if said gay guy is not interested in you? Should he voice this from the beginning, so heterosexual male (you) would like to have a friendship with them?

Only asking this because guys get really weird around me when they find out I like other men, even though they don't meet my criteria at all. This has lead to many failed attempts at friendships and frustration. What would I do?

One of my best friends is gay. I have no problem hanging out with him, and even go to gay clubs with him when he is in town. We have been friends since high school.

This. I even lost friends that we were cool with, then when they found out he was gay, they couldnt handle it. They kinda made me choose a side, and they lost.
