Wolverine and the X-Men too was really fun, especially stuff between Idie and Broo.
Also, Kick-Ass 2 has probably the greatest ending yet (I know it's Icon but that's a Marvel imprint)

Since FF1-11 apparently became Fantastic Four 588-599 or w/e, what is FF12? Since Fantastic Four 601 is coming out too? Confusing numbering is confusing.
Also, was gonna buy Daken cause I love the Runaways. Ya, 1 panel. Passed on it.
Wolverine and the X-Men was ok, Iceman getting a bigger role is always good.
Johnny Storm's story in FF 600 was all kinds of bad ass. I loved how he torched everything he could get near. Too bad they didn't show it but godamn, Annihlus cut him in half right down the middle, harsh.
The first issue of Wolvie School was ok, but I thought this second issue was terrible. Aaron trying too hard to be Grant Morrison with all the randomness, but nowhere near the same level of dialogue or creativity.
Really, frankensteins with flamethrowers?
But seriously, F4 600 is the standard by which all anniversary books should be measured. Between this shit and Ultimates alone, he's the best writer in comics right now imo.
The fact that someone in the main marvel U actually referenced Annihilation was almost reason enough to like that issue.
I have loved everything that Marvel has done with Annihilus since Annihilation. Went from weird looking bug guy to really badass scary villain.
When home for the holidays this weekend I helped my dad clean out parts of the attic. When I was young I was really into X-men and had a slew of X-men and Uncanny X-Men comics... I'm talking about issue Uncanny 150+, Same w/ X-men and a bunch of other Marvel comics. Well being up in the storage room in this airtight box and being in the comic plastic case and having a slip-sleeve, they are all in perfect condition and all perfect white pages. Was really cool. Prolly have a collection worth 3k+
this isnt you, is it?
lol nope, but damn what a coincidence on the date of that. never had anything that rare. my older brother had like silver surfer 1 which is supposed to be somewhere in my parents house also.
small comic book week
picked up X-Men Legacy and FF 12
Spoiler: show
Storm just essentially got called a house nigger (Cyclops is "massa")by Mr. Sinister in uncanny today.
Mr. Sinister was thoroughly entertaining plus seeing the celestials in action is always a treat. Double Hickman with FF & Ultimates woo! I get pissed off at the end of each Ultimates because I want more. I love when differences between the 616 & ultimate universes are done right.
I didn't read Uncanny. I really just don't like Kieron Gillen. Even if Sinister is a great villain when written properly.
I don't understand the hate for the art in FF 12. It wasn't THAT bad. I enjoyed the stylized art.
Despite the occasional goofy moments (considering alot of the cast is little kids), the seriousness of the story really did not match up to the art. That kind of art would be good for humorous series, but just didn't sit with me for FF.
And for a perfect example of art wrecking a story, go dig up X-Factor when Peter Stroman was drawing it (started on issue #33 I think), Peter David's writing was still exactly the same, in other words fucking awesome, but the art absolutely MURDERED it and just made the whole experience painful.
FF seems to change artists every other issue anyway, so wouldnt worry about it.
i will take that awful ff art where i couldnt tell who was who over romita jr any day of the week
