I read some Journey into Mystery and enjoyed it but holy snikes Whilce Portacio's art has taken a nosedive. I remember it as being good years ago when he drew comics on a regular basis but his recent stuff looks super rushed, like he didn't give a shit.

not really Marvel related, but the guy who wrote some of the best Witchblade stuff and is currently writing Voodoo(which has been a surprisingly strong book after the bleh first issue) talked about how to write a female character. Thought it was interesting.

I honestly don't approach writing female characters any differently than I approach writing male characters. I try to write individuals, and I try to write them so they're as three-dimensional as possible. Obviously someone's sex is one of the traits that factor into it, but it's certainly not the only one. A believable character needs to have both positive and negative aspects to their personality, so I try to build that into anyone I write.

Also if you click on that link to the children's crusade stuff, very clearly shows Wanda as the new Phoenix (unless Cheung draws Jean with the exact same face), which is obviously going to be the launching point of AvX.

I don't think it is Wanda. Doom is standing in front of other dead characters: Captain Marvel, Banshee, Wasp, Nightcrawler, and Thunderbird. Also, the nose and chin are slightly different.

Point One seemed to be setting the stages for a few things coming up I would guess. And yeah I think the Cable event should be starting up soon.
