Here's what's happening in X-Factor;

Strong Guy died, Layla uses her power to bring him back but without a soul. Now this Bloodbath character murders Madrox, and after the team finds out what Layla can do, they deliberate for so long about using her power to bring him back that it's too late and he's out of her reach. What I think will happen though, is that since Bloodbath possessed him (and his possessions heal the body of his new host) is that he's actually just barely alive, having regenerated a little during the time Bloodbath was in his body, and that's why Layla's powers wouldn't work buuuuuut I guess we'll find out next time if that's right or not.

If I really had to wager something on where all this stuff with lost souls is going, I'd say it's all going to tie back to why exactly Layla decided to make a close relationship with Doom as soon as she got back. Because what was the very first thing Doom did? The thing that made him Dr. Doom? Just saying it would fit pretty neatly.

I recently started reading X-Factor, why do Jamie and Layla have Bishop tattoos?

At one point they traveled to the future(was around messiah complex). They end up in a mutant internment camp and are caught and branded.

Following up on that, the tattoos mark the persons DNA, so when Jamie absorbs his future dupe, the tattoo marks Madrox Primes DNA. And then Layla travels back to the present, and we have both sporting those stylish fashion statements.

Got paid today, went to my LCS and got Defenders #1. Holy shit that was a good read. Matt Fraction is very hit or miss with me, but this was a definite hit.

Got paid today, went to my LCS and got Defenders #1. Holy shit that was a good read. Matt Fraction is very hit or miss with me, but this was a definite hit.

I'm still not impressed with Fraction. The first page borrowed heavily from Grant Morrison(very poorly). I'll still read the book just to see where he goes with his whole history of the Marvel universe revealed thing.

Unless I've missed a memo, hasn't Iron Fist been liquidating all his money ever since the whole Heavenly Cities Ark in his solo book a few years back.

The whole deal with him having the big PR event so he can privatize space travel felt way off, especially considering Fraction cowrote said storyline where Iron Fist decided to go all philanthropic.

Ya, they never really resolved that to my recollection. That being said, Tony Stark is still broke so someone must be supporting the New Avengers?

I don't know much about Iron Fist. All I've ever read was a 6 issue series I found in a dollar bin (Breathless, I think?) and his issue of Deadpool Team Up. He had my favorite line in Defenders #1 though: "The older I get, the more life seems to be the stupid, frustrating stuff that gets in the way of you and reading comics."

I like Defenders so far, other than Scarlet Spider none of the other stuff in Point One did it for me. I'm also super excited for X Sanction, since I recently finished Cable and Deadpool.

He's been funding the New Avengers ever since Civil War. They never really stated if they're government funded now or not, outside of the whole no paycheck thing since Spiderman wont reveal his identity.
