You did read the title of this thread right? Marvel Comics? Or are you trying to troll? If so, try harder.

I'm sorry, is it trolling to point out that another comic publisher has a better summer event going? Do you actually like Fear Itself? The only story out of Fear Itself that I've enjoyed is Speedball's story in Homefront, but again that's just my personal taste for decent writing.
It's trolling to come into a thread dedicated to a specific topic & say it sucks. And btw, this thread isn't about Fear Itself.
Marvel Comics sucks because they can't handle lowering the price back down to 2.99. No, instead they're enjoying that 3.99 and putting out inferior stories. I'm pretty sure that it's okay to say that and not expect to be called a troll. And no, this thread isn't about Fear Itself, but this thread is in regards to Marvel Comics, and Fear Itself and it's stand-alone titles such as Homefront and such are Marvel Comics, as you probably know, so it's also okay to discuss how I dislike that event title in this thread too.
I think you're just mad that I'm saying Marvel Comics is shitty right now.![]()
Except it isn't. To say all Marvel comics are shitty is just being ignorant. Fear Itself is a pretty lackluster event but there are plenty of other great Marvel titles like FF & Uncanny X-Force. Ultimate Fallout #1 is by far one of the best comics that's come out in a long time. And I'm not trying to be a Marvel fan-boy, I read plenty of DC too but to pick sides and say the other is bad is just so retarded.
Spoiler: show
I'm basing my opinion that Marvel sucks largely on the fact that they can't handle reducing the price of their comics to a fair 2.99. DC Comics has and they're still putting out quality titles. For the love of Cthulhu, they even lowered the price on their flagship titles like Detective Comics. Have you been reading that? It's a goldmine of awesome, grantlogan. I imagine picking sides is normally retarded, but I cannot accept that Marvel has any decent reason to not lower the price of their books along with DC Comics beyond the fact that they're greedy.
And hey, I agree that FF, Uncanny X-Force, and the Death of Spider-Man arc in Ultimate Spider-Man have been fantastic. I just don't see why I should have to pay more for these titles when I'm only paying $2.99 for Detective Comics. I'm not being unfair with this opinion of mine. I don't have to give these assholes my money, y'know? Yet I just put a good $118 down at the local comic shop to support the comic industry, especially my LCS, and I'm saddened to see that the only books I've picked up from Marvel have in fact been FF, Uncanny X-Force, and Mighty Thor. I genuinely enjoy the Marvel line of books, but I'm not seeing any compelling reason to spend my money on their books unless they're especially good. And that's an average of $88-118 a month, by the way. It's not like I grace my local comic shop every 6 months or something. Of course, some twit is going to come along and say that I don't have to buy their books if I don't want to, but that's just some bullshit excuse to cop out of the truth I am dishing out. A business should cater to their customers to a point. Most of everyone is feeling that 3.99 for a monthly release is too much, and so DC Comics responded the way they should have, and Marvel goes, "LOLZ, WELL, WE'LL JUST PUT OUT FEWER TITLES EVERY MONTH. NOW SUCK MY DICK, LOL".
Sorry that I enjoyed Schism #1 and wanted to support it? I'd rather not pay $5, but then most of the books I do pick up are $3. I don't even want to pay $4 for the new Daredevil series, and I probably won't. That being said, if I particularly enjoy something I will buy it, despite the cover price. If you disagree with it, that is absolutely fine with me.
so between Generation Hope, Avengers, and everything else, I'm wondering who at Marvel thought "Let's make Wolverine the voice of reason in everything!". That person needs to get slapped.
Ok so Uncanny 541 was just bad ass. Words can't even describe.
I like that Juggernaut seems like an actual threat. He has been such a pansy the past 10 years or more now. The action scenes where groups attacked Juggernaut seemed too broken up for me, with Cyc having to explain everything.
was p good. wish juggy could talk though. i have no followed fear itself at all, AT ALL. is it any good?
i used to love greg land's art, now it ruins everything for me.
Fear Itself is a hot mess imo. It is so disjointed and almost impossible to follow unless you read EVERY Marvel book. When I went into my local comic shop on Wednesay he basically had a full 6 foot by 8 foot wall of just Fear Itself issues.
Here is what has happened in a nutshell
Spoiler: show
Personally, I think a lot of the other storylines in Marvel are better right now. Black Bolt coming back(and FF in general has been very good), Schism, Uncanny X-Force/AoA, Avengers the Children's Crusade(which comes out way to slow).
god that sounds fucking awful. i may wait till its all over and do a quick read through. i love matt fraction too, oh well
So in the X-men comics future it was hinted that Deadpool might be killed off. I pray that this is true for the very least it will make all the fan boys cry themselves to sleep.

The only storyline I follow in Fear Itself is the story with Speedball/Penance in Homefront.
the Uncanny X-Force one is good, it seems more like a stand-alone X-Force story with the Purifiers and not part of the bigger Fear Itself storyline. Then again, I like everything X-Force.
I agree and he's always been one of my favorites but they really seemed to be dropping hints that Cyclops wouldn't be around after the events of Schism.
They hinted Deadpool might be killed off in February. They also said some parts of him are going to form some evil Deadpool(I thought he always put his parts back on).
