So does this new voidwalker thing sound pretty much like ANNM fights or FoV elite NMs as far as spawn conditions go; battle field status and such? If that's how it works and the pop items are like traverser stones, that shit is gonna be worse than trying to enter Fiat Lux.
I'd have to guess you're looking at a Perma-open Fiat Lux type BC, only with a pared down version of the atma/abyssite system from Abyssea, as far as entry goes?
I realise they're likely to release new atmacite or whatever they choose to call the new versions with a later patch, but it does appear to be a more streamlined version, perhaps due to all the complaints regarding having to wade through pages of atma.
Edit: Along with all the problems associated with trying to enter the original Fiat lux.
This has always been the rub in XI - getting competent support. Sure, if you have it then things won't be much different and RDM/BRD will be legitimately needed again for events but the typical NQ players aren't going to be keeping up Refresh/Ballad fulltime (for whatever reason) and without safety nets like Apoc and Lucid Ethers, things will get ugly for some groups.
Im assuming (hoping) Voidwatch is remotely difficult.
Seems like ANNM to me.
Go to one of those fountain-looking things, insert drop-boosting items, buff up, confrontation status comes on, battle begins.
When you win the treasure box comes up and everyone gets their own loot from it.
Well each area is supposed to have 3 areas to do battle so it'll be crowded but the 6man limit will keep some of the demand down since you cant flag it solo.
Still expecting it be hammered to hell unless the battles are obscenely difficult and scare people off. The stone timer is probably high enough to make this event slow to repeat as well.
Sorry I'm late to the party, so my findings are old news, but for those of you that aren't looking to strain your eyes:

Incomplete list, just the first things I found, going to keep looking since I have nothing better to do for.... 4 more hours.

A known favorite of the notorious Nidhogg. Allegedly irresistible enough to draw the malevolent wyrm out of hiding.
I'm going to get that Dagger just because it looks awesome.
Same with the Greatsword.
I am both greatly annoyed and happy at the Oneiros Dagger. If it's a 10% crit then woo but at the same time FUUUUUU because of the amount of Dom points I wasted just to get two 5% Yatas D:
I can't find anything to suggest it. I was curious myself if they'd go the route of +3 (orange box) or renaming weapons. This update seems to focus on synergy (new recipes and augments on existing gear) so perhaps it's planned for later. Searched the official forums albeit briefly, didn't find anything there either.
Its only 30 dmg though and my guess is its crit dmg bonus only applies to its swings. Yatas can have 40+ dmg, Im not 100% sure on ffxi dmg calculations but wouldn't this dagger require a pretty high amount of crit dmg+ in order to outweigh the 40+ dmg of angre harpe or an augmented yataghan?
Whats gives you that idea? Curious.
X's knife applied to both hands, so do the Yataghans.
Edit: While i agree that weapon just looks better than it is. Even if it was 10% Crit damage, It has horrendously low DPS/base Damage, Might be useful still, Its benefit to Evisceration, SA, and TA on THF might out-weigh its lower DPS from TP phase.
I don't knowI'm no math wiz.
Oh I didn't know X's applied to both, ok well then maybe it can do both swings, in that case I can see it possible working out to be good but I still see a 30 dmg dagger not being as good as a 40 dmg with less crit+, maybe it would factor well into a forced crit set up for dnc with AF3+2 body.
