She's all over the forum posting "information" which turns out to be wrong and will only admit to it being wrong after several people call her out. And she ignores every second reason people give as to why they dislike the new payment options, scoffing at people for being upset, and basically has no clue.

Ive been discussing pet jobs (not SMN) on official boards and ZAM and have often voiced my opinion that BST has no true niche in party play which is why the job has been ostracized since inception. There is very a little a BST offers that can't be done by other DD and the pets while made more powerful are just not enough to offset the master being pretty lackluster.

Responses are that because the master + pet are a team that both must be counted in order to quantify the utility of the class. My counterpoint is that in situations where the master + pet can both engage, other DD will pull ahead if buffed and that in situations where ranged DD excel, the pet just isn't sturdy enough to stand on its own especially when being peppered by AOEs or status effects.

While SMN can simply dismiss an avatar and call a fresh one, BST gets no such luxuries. Sic/Ready attacks are pretty terrible and you have very limited ways to buff the pet to offset having to stand back.

On PUP:

PUP while getting buffed as a DD winds up losing alot of attack rounds to putting up maneuvers in order to keep the automaton useful. Again my argument here is that DD are a dime a dozen and PUP is currently like a MNK with an ineffective pet. The robot just can't keep up when DD are buffed, suffers from being shutdown by AOEs and while it can be brought back easily through DEA cannot take much punishment and is handcuffed by a terrible AI system that removes alot of the practical applications automatons like the Soulsoother could have had.

Perhaps it was just me but wasn't SEs initial vision of PUP as being a versatile DD with the automaton being the power behind that versatility? I tend to run when a PUP declares they can heal a party and I feel BLU has turned out to be a far more versatile class.

This could be my BLU bias speaking however, being my favorite job and all.

Opponents pose that PUP was designed to be full-on DD and that the DD frames can currently hold their own when combined with the masters damage to be a potent enough combo in the right hands. Largely I hear the reason PUP isn't liked has to do with the notion that individuals do not play it correctly.

I find that hard to believe, with all the skilled players who have graced XI but has anyone done any experiments for or against this claim? Has anyone ever parsed how BST + pet or PUP + pet stack up against our typical go-to DD?

I was going to wait until the last second, transfer my accounts but just not buy crysta until this crap is fixed. Which is why I asked the question I linked (without the rage) and they actually answered me. The accounts just go dormant when you have insufficient crysta
