True, farming pops adds to the time, but even with that I was never so unlucky before, lol. Never had to spend 3-4 days and so many hours in a zone to get 1 piece done, even my LS is really sympathizing with me now, lol.

Yag is the worst possible NM to ever do for any jobs body seals imo, at least on sylph. Always camped by 1-3 other groups who take DECADES to kill it and refuse to team up. Body seals are really retarded to get sometimes, especially off that NM. Bastion also sucks sometimes, it's so random, kind of like feet you need dropping.

:< He got us good. Clearly calling someone a lady is constructive indeed!
This. I have BLU leveled and was BLU the last time I did Bastion, as suggested earlier in the thread. There's no job in the world that is going to fix this or save you from getting Brainjacked and wasting the entire fight on you. There's OPs that will raise the HP of the Martello and put up wards, but you can only do them once per game day, it only gives about +3% HP per OP, and they only last for the next battle. Once it's over, everything is back to lolnoHP and no wards.
When the system came out, Bastion was the "better" option because feet *were* rare and the random number generator worked against you pretty hard. With the increased drop rate, my entire LS (8 people) has acquired every single pair of shoes multiple times over and even given away a few pairs from cleaving/killing NMs. Yes, if you only need 3 feet and 3 legs, Bastion is going to get you what you want quicker. If your goal is to get all 20 pairs of feet and legs, doing Bastion for 20k points is going to feel like a root canal compared to collecting feet as they come for jobs you don't even use.
Thankfully I am done with Bastion for good.
I got all my feet and I've never once cleaved for KIs. There are folks who have spent the better part of a week doing nothing but cleaving and no feet to show for it.
The Random Number Generator is a fickle mistress. That's all there is to it.
If you say otherwise you've got your head so far up your ass that you can no longer see the reality that's quite obvious to everyone else.
ya you're pretty retarded if you didn't read that.
as others stated random generator is fucking random. For ever person who says "I got all 20 before even reaching 90" you'll find another who did a fuckton of events and never saw a particular one drop to the point they said "fuck it" and started farming like mad.
Saying gimps find bastion easier is just insanely lol.
All it comes down to is how lucky you were with the randomness with feet, vs. time to get your points for bastion. And that's NOT going to be the same for everyone gimp or not.
Meh, get off or not, this is an endgame community of information which implies, by extension, discussion of methods. We're at a point in this game where you could actually have your thumb up your ass the whole time and still be a decent endgame player. Those that actually want to use their time efficiently and maximize what they can get out of this game should be aware of efficiency debates like the current one. If we sat around here listening to whinewhinebitchbitch all day of the same shit over and over again nothing would be accomplished by this board; and I was under the impression that this was a board aimed at getting information out there to the mass of players. Agreed, merciless doesn't offer any support to why he thinks people are retarded, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's wrong. I just took up the job of elaborating for him since I figured I should offer something useful on the side instead of just making valisk look like a tool. This thread isn't the place for it, sure, but where is anymore? If it doesn't come up randomly information on playstyles like what we are discussing are never discussed. Unless, of course, the ultimate plan of BG was to enshrine mediocrity so the players who were actually good never had any competition from possible good players.
Yeah, I agree that was a little silly and extreme, but that has nothing to do with what's actually being debated.
Knock this shit off.
LOL, that's great.
Lol at 40 Fafnirs and no Ridill as though that's something so unusual...
Hm. Our Fafs never got the memo.
People still want Ridills? o.O
Also, lolPchan: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...l=1#post166334
(He basically got mad when I made a reference to people who flipped out over AF3+2 because it outclassed their gear, and got madder when I used Usukane vs Tantra as an example - not a lot of rage, just stupidity)
I'm, of course, just jealous because I never got full Usukane. Except that I did.
I do so love this, I wonder what the reply will be. I'm also tickled by the fact that all of your valid points regarding atma, abyssite, pop timers, and proc conditions got completely ignored, as did the fact that most of the gear that did come from Visions wasn't really anything to be blown away by.
I guess he didn't hear that after every maintenance Ridill becomes 100% ^_^
(Please tell me you all remembered how many threads popped up on these forums asking "DID THEY CHANGE THE DROP RATE THIS MAINT??? I WENT 1/1 ON FAFNIR")
I pumped through about 20 fafs since the trigger spawn update without seeing one, finally said something about it and then two dropped back to back immediately afterwards lol.
Yeah, 0/20ish as well but that's not really that odd. You could go months without seeing a Ridill, and that's with claiming it nearly every day.
This is incredible coming from the guy who quit FFXI once "Ashittea" came out, then returned to the game a year later and pursued a Vereth while still wearing full Usukane.Originally Posted by Pchan
